The wife and I threw some clothes in the sissybar bags and set out yesterday afternoon on a whim and rode from Cleveland TN. to Townsend to spend the night and ride awhile...her on the VLX and me on the VTX. It was a great trip....perfect weather and no crowds to speak of. We got a room at the Comfort Inn in Townsend and then rode into Gatlanburg. With little traffic the ride to and from was a blast. What traffic there was was well mannered making the ride so much better. Today we rode the Cades Cove loop and it was very enjoyable. Too bad the leaves have just started turning but with color comes bigger crowds. Also there were quite a few motorcycles out both days. There were about two dozen or more at Sugarlands visitor center...not bad for a Monday. All in all it was about the best ride we have both had in a while. We never thought 33 years ago when we went to the Townsend - Gatlanburg area on our honeymoon (Oct 23rd 1971) we would be cruising the same roads on two wheels in 2004. Just thought I would share my pleasure :D :D :D .Bisley
