Greetings,
I'm Tim and have an 03' 1300 Retro. Currently living in Pasadena. Have had the X for a couple months and loving it. Getting close to winter now and nice riding days are running out. A couple of people here on the forum are going to meet up tomorrow Oct 9th and Annes Dairy Queen on Ritchie Hwy (Rt2), by Marley Station Mall. We'll meet at 3pm and probably take a ride to Annapolis. If anyone wants to hang out meet us there, and bring your other bikers buds. No matter what they ride.
Hey Tim,
Thanks for starting this section up. I'll be there!
We may want to consider avoiding Annapolis though. Boat show this weekend and traffic will be more than it's usual hell. I know a good route down South County to Waysons Corner.
Anne's Hot Dogs and bikes! Don't get much better.
Jim

I hear that Jim. I made the mistake of taking a ride down to Annapolis tonight, traffic was awful. Will have to think of a different ride route.

The second annual Celebrate Life Motorcycle Ride Bikers Helping Local Kids With Cancer will be held on Sunday, October 17, 2004 starting and ending at the Longwood Recreation (Community) Center in Brookeville, MD. The event benefits the Carol Jean Cancer Foundation, Inc. The Foundation provides recreational and year-round free support to children with cancer and their families from Maryland, DC, and Northern Va. The premier program, Camp Friendship is located on 43 acres in Laytonsville, MD. This year's ride will be a Poker Run and Outback Steakhouse will provide lunch (sirloin steak, grilled chicken, and salad buffet) to all who pre-register by October 13, 2004.
The poker run will have five stops using the back roads in Montgomery, Howard, and Carroll Counties. At each stop all riders and passengers will receive a poker card in a sealed envelope. There will be two route sequences - each route has the same stops and mileage but in a different order. Riders wishing to stay together will be given the same route sequence. Total mileage is about 54.5 miles.
Also, Outback Steakhouse will be serving a buffet lunch at the Longwood Recreation Center starting at 1:15 PM for those who pre-register by October 13, 2004 by emailing their intent to participate to celebrateliferide@comcast.net with the following information: name, number of bikes, number of people including passengers, if any. Pre-registration does not require prepayment. Outback Steakhouse needs to know the approximate number of people expected for lunch by the evening of October 13.
The schedule for the day:
9:30 -11:00 AM registration
10:15 AM -First Bike(s) out
11:00 AM - Last Bike(s) out
1 PM - All Bike(s) back at Longwood
1:15 PM - lunch by Outback Steakhouse at Longwood Recreation Center and prizes for winning poker hands. There will be a Celebrate Life Ceremony thanking participants.
2004 fees: those who pre-register by Oct 13, 2004, $30 per person. Lunch only - $25. After October 13 and day of the ride, $35 per person
At registration, there will be coffee by Starbucks, donuts by Krispy Kreme, pastries from the French Confection, and bottled water from Drink More Water.
Detailed information about the Poker Run is available on the Carol Jean Cancer Foundation, Inc. website http://www.cjcf4kids.org . Just click on the Celebrate Life Motorcycle Ride button on the top of the main web page for detailed information such as a ride flyer, poker run rules, poker run routes, registration, sponsorship forms, and directions.

Hi Rich, Thanks for sharing the info. Sounds like it will be a good time. Unfortunately, I'll be out of town that weekend. But maybe some others will meet up with you.
