Nice pics. I've been looking for this place for a while. How about directions from Leestown and Circle 4?

Thanks

It is out past Hall's on the river. I can not give exact directions unfortunately I have not made it there yet myself. Some buddys of mine at work will go every couple of weeks when the weather is good and says it is a WILD time. There are some pretty crazy crotch rocket riders there doing their things. They apparently drive the cops mad trying to catch them. When a cop is sited coming in they play "Bad Boys" (Cops theme) on a loud sound system and everyone chills out. I think there is actually another place besides Bananas near by that they travel back and forth from. Also from what I hear the crowd is usually alot bigger than the pictures above show. There is also a Monday night ride in downtown Frankfort at the street mall, that's a little smaller and mellower than the Thursday night ride at Bananas. Hey maybe we should put together a list of these local area rides.

Hey everyone,

This past Thursday when I took these pics, was a very slow night! I think the cooler weather is putting a damper on the "Thursday Night Riders."

The directions are very simple.

If you want to take the scenic route,

Hop on Richmond road @ I 75 towards Athens/Boonesboro and go South. You will come to a 4/way stop sign in Athens, go straight through it. You will come to another stop sign where there is a "Y" in the road with a little country market on your left . Bare to the right after stop. Continue on
and you will pass the famous "Hall's on the River" restaurant on your left, in about 2 miles you will pass another restaurant on your right, I believe it's called "The Water Front." There will be a little hill just beyond this resturant you will go up and come to another stop sign. This will be "Ford Rd." Take another right and about a mile down on your left will be Banana's! The first restaurant "The Water Front," is also another bike hangout, just depends what your into! I beleive they are both great places with great people. I've never seen the crowd rowdy and everyone is always more than willing to talk about their bikes.

If you didn't have time to eat before you start your ride, I recommend their cheeseburgers! Awesome! You'll find them at the booth with chili dogs and such, or a full blown menu inside Banana's! The beer's are 1.50 and soda's are there as well.

The ride down is very beautiful with lots of twisties and some straights.
Careful for first timers down there. There are some crazy stunt riders dooooing wheelies at above legal speed limits coming at you or if not there will be the favorite LEO's doing their part in keeping us safe!

Here's a little more info on Thursday Night Riders at the river.

Always a packed house thru the summer. Kinda dies down as the temps drop. Definitely two seperate crowds: Banana's has the larger mixed bike gatherings and sport bike antics out front. The Waterfront is the old standby crowd, mostly cruisers that love to look & talk bikes. Food is decent at both locales, but the burgers & banana peppers are worth the trip.

If you're thinking about going, get there early too avoid traffic and drunks. Easy less scenic route from Lexington is I-75 south to exit 95 (rte.627) turn left, go approx 5 miles and go over bridge, turn right on 1924. Waterfront is immediate right turn, Banana's is 1/4 mile ahead on left. Can't miss it. Just follow the crowds.
