Biketoberfest 2

Decided that first strand was getting a bit long. It looks like Biketoberfest is upon us this coming weekend. Any plans to get a group together and ride down?? I am open most days so someone make up my mind for me! :?

Made it back to Jax via I95 in record time. I still have bugs embedded in my face from the high speed impacts. :mcrider:

It was nice seeing I95 finally repaved and having an extra 3rd lane.
I cannot believe how many post I have read that say wildshields are for wimps. My shield was caked with bugs Saturday night.

When I rode in Colorado, I forgot my mounting brackets and road nakid out there. My face was tore up from flying rocks kicked up by bikes and cars.

I enjoyed it throughly. My windshield was covered too. If the ones who think they are for wimps like bugs in their teeth so be it. It's an added source of protein for them.

Hey XRATED & VORTEX!!!! Had a great time too Saturday. Sorry it took so long for us to get going. :cry: Wife really had a good time and the two Sporty riders had a blast too. I'm going solo this coming saturday (without the Boss). Trying to get a few more people to ride down too. (early) (no delay's)(LOL!!!!!) Stu, I know you are going with the Blue Knights, XRATED, care to join up, and meet up with Stu?? Plus, Hondaonline, is having a VTX show at the Sunshine Mall there too, I was wanting to put my "X" in it, or even just ride over and see whats up there. I'm sure they will have parts there for sale too. Hey I also found, or should i say the wife found a lic. plate bracket that might work for ya too. (she was looking out for ya). Stu. I should have your Jacket done and ready to give to ya wednesday at buffalo's if your going. O.k. I've blabbed enough. I'll chat with ya's latter. 8)

You all might have noticed on Central Floridas board. If you're interested, they're suggesting an informal get together of X riders on Saturday at 10AM at the HDL site. I plan on making it Saturday but I'm going to head out from Gainesville. Hope to see you there.

I would like to suggest a very informal chance to meet other VTX Riders during Biketoberfest. If you can fit it into the schedule, let's meet at the HDL tent in Sunshine Mall at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, 10/23. This would, maybe, give us a chance to meet some riders that we haven't met and check out the bikes and see how other folks have their X's set-up.

It would be nice to hear from ya'll (yous guys, for those that don't speak southern) if you plan on being there just so I have an idea how many to expect, but no registration will be done.

Oh yeah, it will also be a great chance to meet some of the folks from HDL and see if you can work out some kind of trade with them. Ya know.... trade some money for accessories :D .

Hope to see some familiar faces and meet some new folks on 10/23.

I'll be there at 10. I'll drop my bike off at the Progressive booth to get new front fork springs installed. I rode Wilburs (King Cobra) bike on thursday over at HDL, and verified my front end was weak. (Too much abuse) Look me up, maybe we can toast a beer over at the IronHorse later on!!

Well, went back down to Daytona, a last min. decision, and some arm twisting from some friends. Cruised 95 down, and hit the Horse (Iron Horse that is). Got some great compliments on the "X" There and over at the Hogs Pit across the way. Some of these Harley riders could not belive that the X was a Honda, The other H.D. (HonDa) :lol: The guy at the Hogs Pit parking area like the X so much that he told me and my other X rider buddy to park right up front! (COOL). When we parked we had a group of hog riders come up to us and (pretty rough looking guy's too) watched us rev'em up and shut them down. Then the questions began from them. Thought they where gonna give us a hard time, but they did not, they where impressed with the Bikes! They all loved the sound of mine with the duel DG slash cuts, Baffle-less that is. and the Kury butterfly intake. So with the crowd I (we) had around the X's, I started to boast about them, espeacially about the ability not to over heat in stop and go traffic, and they thought that was cool! Excuse the pun. :D As they all walked away impressed, I heard one of the hard-core harley riders say "Dam Jap bikes are better than some of the Harleys out there." All I could do was smile once I heard that. To say the least, today was a good day for me and my Hot Rod "X". Even had a photographer from Iron Horse mag. Take pics of my "X", don't know if he'll use it cause it is a Harley mag. But it was cool that he took pics of my bike. Well enough of my boasting here, I was just excited today is all. Hope the rest of you "X" family members had a cool weekend as I did today. Oh, by the way, if you where all wondering, the wifes surgery went well friday, no cancer, all gone, don't think she had it to begin with, but you know doctors, they have to be sure. What did she have? Well let me just say that the factory is now closed, well half of it is. That's all good, not to sound mean, we have all the offsprings we are gonna have. :D She will be back on the bike by next weekend. Yes I did get here a Biketoberfest "T" today. :D

Glad to hear your wife is ok. I called you and x-rated on Saturday while I was in Daytona but no answer or yours and left a message on x-rated's phone. No reply. Met Pegs there and we had a great ride. Sorry I missed everyone.
