:?: Would appreciate feedback regarding the "Service Department" of "Honda of Chanute". I purchased my VTX from this dealer and have discovered, the Missouri Dealers are extremely reluctant to outright refuse to service a bike sold by this dealer. So I would appreciate all encounters with this service department.

Ok everyone, I know you have opinions :) I've read enough of them on this sight  So how about sharing them regarding this subject.

Hey, ejh I havn't heard anything about the dealer at Chanute. I think he was one of the dealers that had bikes on e-bay for sale. As far as service goes I do my own evey time I've let someone wrench on my bike I end up redoing it myself anyway. My Retro is two years old and hasn't been back to the dealer since the day I picked it up. Service manuals are cheap on e-bay and I enjoy doing it myself. The toughest thing I've done to date was a valve adjustment and it's not that bad. Save your money and find a friend willing to help that way you know what you got. CC

I bought a Shadow from them back in 2000. The dealership was super to work with then, but I never had any service work done there. I am like CC, I just figure it out and do it myself. Every shop will have its good and bad points. I would just go talk to them and decide for yourself.

Only had a couple of tires mounted by them without any problems. one of the local dealers here doesn't want to work on my X that I bought in Columbia Mo either so I think they are just ticked about the loss of a sale.

Would that be the Honda dealer on Range Line Road in Columbia? If so, they are being treated just like Chanute for selling below MSRP by other Dealers.

That's the one!! I even gave my local stealer a chance to match or even come close but their idea of close was 2600 more for the same bike.
