VTX-UK

Spent 2 weeks in San Jose California last year on business. All that sunshine gave me the bug for riding again, so after a break of almost 20 years, came back and bought myself a Bandit 600.
Not the meanest bike in the world, but relatively safe and forgiving to re-learn my riding skills.
Changed the Bandit on Good Friday for a 1300 Retro, never looked back. Been to see the doctor to see if he can cure my addiction to buying chrome - now part way through therapy with some success, but not before I had acquired a backrest, highway bars, lamp bar & spots, drag pipes, Dynojet Stage 1, saddle bag supports etc.
I have found this board to be very interesting and particularly helpful for tips and tricks e.g. rejetting.
Some of the political stuff goes over my head, and the strong Veteren contingent is something I know nothing about, but I guess that's just because of the physical distance between us.
For the UK side, I like to do as many ride-outs as possible. VTX riders appear to be thin on the ground, and I don't go much on riding with HOGs, so I have tended to go up to London for the Ace Cafe events.
I, too, have put the dust covers on for the next few months. I can deal with the wet if properly prepared (and psyched-up for the post-ride clean & polish), but the cold gets to me.
1 hour riding in the wet = 1 hour cleaning & polishing.
1 hour riding in the cold = 1 week warming up.
Look forward to meeting up with anyone in the UK.
