View Full Version : pipes
THANKS to all of you offering advise on how to post a pic...but no luck yet... ..maybe later on that.. But I would like to get some feedback on aftermarket pipes. Will be some time..maybe spring,,before I get a set, however, am looking into it. So far what's out is COBRA and SUPER TRAP. Both decided from the advise of the local Honda Dealer. Says the finish in the Trap is bad and Cobra doesnt sound that great on the 1800. I checked into BUBS and found some good reviews and some bad, so will have to do some more investigating there as the verdict is still out. Guess it comes down to VANCE-HINES (Bigshot), JARDINE (which I have heard on the 1300 and sound great) or HARD KHROME to research. My question this time around is..."WHAT PIPES DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR THE VTX1800 RETRO????"
Thanks..VTXRSteve

Steve,
I would recommend meeting some people with these different pipes before making up your mind. I ride with several 1800's and have seen/heard a set of Cobra's, V&H Bigshots, & HK 3 er's. The Cobra's are on a C model and sound really good. The V&H & HK's are awesome pipes on the Retro. They are both loud and sound good. The V&H have a very nice low growl/rumble to them. The HK's have one heck of a bark to them. It's all in your own personal opinion regarding looks & sound. As mentioned previously, get out there and meet some people in order to figure out which ones look & sound the best to you. Good luck & stay warm.
