I’m a new user to these forums and wanted to take this opportunity to “vent” a little…..
Just got back from working in south-central Florida in support of the disaster relief efforts going on there – I guess three hurricanes through that state will do that. They got hammered pretty hard.
The weather? Well, what can I say? 70 – 80 degrees every day. Their “dry” season is starting (they’re watering lawns for chrissakes!). Yes, palm trees (or what’s left of ‘em) are swaying gently in the breeze. The tropical flora – beautiful!
And bikes everywhere you turn. Cruising – cruising – cruising. Groups headed to the beaches. Mostly HDs down there, but, I saw a few VTXs . And, of course, plenty of crotch rockets.
Yup, here I was – away from home – working 12-14 hr days with no days off – my pride and joy was locked up in a barn a gazillion miles away …. And THESE GUYS HAVE THE AUDACITY TO RIDE RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!!!
Most of them had smiles on their faces.
The b@st#rds!
Ok, I thought. When I finally get home Friday night, there’ll still be some riding weather left this year - right?
But, imagine my horror when I saw FROST on the shingles Saturday morning.
78 degrees when I left.
33 degrees when I got back.
AAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!
After an unsuccessful attempt to uproot the family immediately and move to Florida for good, I’ve consigned myself to readying the bike for spring. Cassoday is right around the corner!
