Go to NMXRIDERS.COM and check out the Members list, I bet you'll find some folks from the southern part of the state.

Ran across the scoop/details on the NM X Riders website: nmxriders.com. Signed up for it. Just hope I can now get away to actually go. Looks like fun. :) Company would be good.

Hey...kai38, samzuni, BozoWise and VTX-Ryder...
I am in El Paso (Westside, Mesa and Executive Center area) and ride solo (except for one group ride up north a few weeks ago) partly because I don't know any other local VTXers or any other MC riders actually. Usually see only HDs and Metric sportsbikes around town...wave at them all, though, even scooter guys/gals.
I go up to Alamogordo/Ruidoso/Cloudcroft, NM, occasionally since that trip can be done in a day without feeling too much in a hurry to get back; or up to Rio Rancho/Albuquerque, NM, (weather permitting since it's a long trip to me) to visit my Mom and sister; or fairly frequent trips via the back roads (HWY 28 for example) to Las Cruces, NM, (go to Starbucks/Village Inn in Las Cruces before/after I scout out the new apartments up there or drive around the golf club/Sonoma Ranch areas); and once last July to Roswell, NM, for their UFO Festival on the way back from Rio Rancho.
But mostly I just ride around town about every other day...out to the far Eastside, Trans Mountain Road to the Northeast, Loop 375 (Trans Mountan Rd. continued) from the Northeast to Eastside/Montana, out Alameda or North Loop down south to Clint/Fabens, or cruise up north to Anthony/Vado.
Sunland Park, NM, is not far from me as I pass by it on the way to Las Cruces via Doniphan or HWY 28. Chapparal Park I've never really been to. Haven't been to Hobbs (or Mayhill, Loving or Timberon) either but am quite familar with Carlsbad, NM, (I just pass through Artesia on way from Carlsbad to Roswell). As for Los Alamos, never been there, but guess I'm close to it when I go up to Rio Rancho.
If I am visiting my Mom, I take I-40 East to Clines Corner and then south to Encino/Vaughn/Roswell or, sometimes I go the Moriarty/Willard/Cedarvale/Corona/Carrizozo route back to El Paso rather than take "boring" I-25 south. When I DO go to Roswell, I come back on HWY 70 East through the scenic Hondo Valley (Tinnie/Silver Eagle Restaurant, Hondo, San Patricio, Ruidoso Downs, Ruidoso) and then take Route 244 -- the "back way" -- fron Ruidoso to Cloudcroft and either come back to El Paso via Alamogordo (HWY 54/Dyer St.) or through White Sands (HWY 70 East) to Las Cruces and then I-25 South to El Paso.
As the weather gets colder, however, will be taking the car up there instead, but hopefully that will be a while off yet...but who knows!
Anyway, I suppose we DO still have some fair riding weather left for the year...let me know if any of you want to get together sometime.

Kirk,
Thanks for the response and offer, but I don't go to Mexico anymore (for reasons best not made public) but I could go to Deming and Columbus with you, then when you guys go over the border, I'd head back...
Hopefully, the weather won't be too cold by then.
Regards,
John D.

That part of Mexico is way different then going to "J" town.
The resturant is about 100 yds across the border owned by a guy living out here on County Club and lets us park where we can see the bikes, One time he paid some kids to watch the bikes for us. I've been there 3 times with no problems and friend have been riding there for a few years for lunch.

I take the trip up Highway 28 quite often, sometimes twice a week or more, mostly to Stahmann's Farm for ice cream.
Plus I like to get up to the Lighthouse Java coffee house in Chaparral, just past Stires Grocery on McCoombs road, of a weekend morning just to sit, sip lattes and watch the sun come up. :D :P :D
PM me if you want to meet there some weekend.
Sam.

samzuni,
Okay, we can do that...
Are you going on the October 1 run to San Antonio, NM?
If so, I will see you then...I'm meeting Kirk at Java Dave's (El Paso, Westside) Saturday morning early...will probably get there when they open (6:30 a.m.) for some coffee first.
Later,

Hello all, Artesia here. Just picked up my VTX in October and really enjoying it. Looking to add accessories but wife says "NO its too close to Christmas". At least she is wanting a list to buy them for me. There is a good ride up to Queen, NM and a great cafe to eat when you get there. The only problem is there is no gas there so be sure to fill up in Carlsbad or Artesia before you take off.
