I notice a lot of crusiers and tourers riding in the Canton-to-Blue Ridge area of NW GA, especially on Tuesday or Wednesdays, because this seems to the best time to own the roads. They start about late March and run through October.

I have thought about 'organizing' a Wednesday afternoon 'eat and ride' ritual. A good place to meet up and eat is the Hooter's on Exit 20 in Canton off I-575. It seems a good parking area to meet in, and we can plan a different ride each week (or month, whatever). Basic schedule is: if there is more than a 10% chance of showers, the ride is postponed until the following Wednesday.

Anyone able to make such events, or help with the organization, please let me know.

Sorry for the late reply... but I could make an occasional Wednesday ride.

I know where that Hooters is! Until 2 years ago I lived in one of those old homes on Main Street in Canton (Between the Eye Clinic and 575).

Rick,

I can (at present) make Wednesday rides. Hopefully, if I land a job sometime soon, that will change, but for the time being yes...I'm available on Wednesdays.

I can pretty well handle anything WEST of I75 and NORTH of Cartersville if you ever get the itch to ride over that direction. There's not too many roads over in there that I've explored yet.

Before I cast a vote, how late in the afternoon are you talking? I leave work in Marietta around 2:00. Don't know if that's too late or not for you folks. I'm available sometimes after that.

I talked to the Hooters manager about this event. They open at 11:30 AM. They are also offering riders a free soft drink with a food purchase. My thinking is that we meet between 11:30 and 12:30 then kickstand up at 12:45, and ride for a few hours. Of course, anyone can peel off at any time, if their schedule so dictates.

I hear there are great places up north of Cartersville, so we can definately head that way some rides; hell, I am only the cat herder here, heh.
