I guess i'm the only one that thought that the run sucked!!! 30mph at BEST the whole way is no run, it's a crawl... I was with a couple of friends that had other than honda's.. (choppers) they now need new pipes and a few of them over heated and had to pull over and stop altogether.... THAT SUCKED... we got off early at the davie ale house and got some beers... that was the best part of the day
you guys all liked it????

I'm not sure but I believe the (biker) accident midway through the ride, on the interstate, slowed it down significantly. Once we got past that it picked up again.

Yea, it was a little slow. However, I do a lot toy runs and I'm not there for the speed. It's more like a parade to let folks say thanks to the riders. That's a lot of bikers to go fast. Too many opportunities for something to go wrong. Let's remember why we do this ride.

I don't like riding stop and go for 25 miles either but that is nature of the ride. I do it to commune with other bikers, to promote a better impression of motorcyclists with the general public, and to support the cause. I can go fast getting there or coming home.

Ed the head and OTH Diver, I agree with the both of you. It's all about the cause, not the speed of the ride. They cleared 95 so we could give to the kids, not so we could enjoy a fast ride on a clear highway. Also, can't forget about all of the logistics that went into the event, it took a lot for them to clear the roads for that long and I was appreciative that we could all ride cager free, regardless of how fast it was. I had a great time!.

Hello Diver,
You planning to ride the West Palm Toy Run? I'd like to hook up with you and discuss those pipes you modified.

My answer to your poll is "None of the above"
Next year, spring for the $300 ticket, and you can lead the parade. Too pricey? Go for the $25 ticket and get to "almost" lead, plus free breakfast and lunch, plus parking right at the gate.
And lastly, you can always volunteer your time for this very worthy cause, and show them a better way to efficiently move 32,000 bikes.

I moved way better than last year. I acutally got up to 50 and 60 a few times. The only real slow down was the minor fender-bender (female) who bumped another bike and had to pull over.
It may have to do with where you are on the line at Pomapno.

It was great . I enjoyed and met a lot of people ...and also got from 0 to 60 mph some times which is ok for a parade...again this has nothing to do with speed...it's about speeding a good cause.

the parade sucked in my opinion, looks like the hog ticket is the way to go, casue that stop and go was no joke.
my tips on the HK 3'ers are now black, casue all that revving for the crowd and the people on the side of the road.
only good thing was that i came out on channel 7 news:)
