Tatoos, ever thought of getting one for the VTX? Would like to get the one of Dawg's Avitar. http://www.vtxoa.com/forums/images/avatars/143861418341bb271a27116.jpg
Without the Christmas theme. Already asked and Dawg gave me permission to use the design for mine. I would change the color of the eyes to color of my bike (RED)
Maybe if we get enough interest we could have a TATs party this winter and get a bunch done at onetime.
If enough interest I'll look into setting one up.

Joe im up for this, I have a few tattoos, and I might have a guy that would do the party. I need to see his work first, but if we get enough people that want to do it I would be willing to do it at my house.

Have a couple in mind also. One my son has had a bunch done by. Very good. Has a store on Washington Av. across from Durangos.

I know to each their own. But I have always felt. If God wanted you to mark up your body; he would have put numbers on your body like those paint by number kits we did as kids. JMO.

Dont cut your hair, if god wanted you to keep short hair...it woudnt grow...same with your fingernails.

If we all lived by the "if god wanted" opinion we would all have long hair, nails, stink, poor vision and be walking around naked.

God gave us the ability to make our own choices is my point.

Once again, someone voices a different opinion than yours and ya'll jump his ass for it. It's high school all over again. Orange Rocket doesn't deserve to be mocked or ridiculed for his beliefs and opinions and if any of you actually had any tattoos to begin with, comments like his wouldn't bother you, because you'd have gotten used to them by now. There are still fewer people with tattoos than there are without, so us "inkers" are the minority, like it or not. Having said that, you have to expect that people that haven't been bitten by the tattoo bug are going to question your choice to be marked for life. Grow up, explain yourself in a calm, mature manner and if you can't do that, try ignoring those comments altogether. Sheesh!

Personally, I think a VTX tattoo is a bad idea and I have my fair share of ink. Wanna know why it's a bad idea? Ask the guy with "Godsmack" or "Betsy" tattooed on his arm.

Hey Slim, got any pics of your arms? :lol: I think PMS (Parked Motorcycle Syndrome) is settling in early for us northerners. Nothing against Orange Rocket but he did come into our "house" and made the first volley. Acrotech and Slim just responded to his opinion with their own. No harm, no foul, IMHO. We are a pretty tight knit group and everyone who has posted in this thread I know personally, have ridden with them, drank with them and laughed with (and sometimes at !LOL) all of them. I know Acrotech, Slim Shady and I will be attending the Colorado ride this upcoming year, hopefully we will get to meet Orange Rocket and have a little laugh over this.

Now, I do have a birthmark that sorta looks like the number 3, wonder what color that is :D

Hey I ment nothing bad to orange. I was having fun with slim, and by the way, I have five tats, and five more in the works not including the VTX one. I do belive the VTX tat for me is a good idea. I have a ruger gun tat that I have had for years, and no regrets, and a Blue Oyster Cult tat, that I have had for years, and I love it more every day. I think about tats before I get them, and the idea of the VTX one I have been thinking of for two years, Joe just put the bug up my ass.

Seems somone should take a look around their own house before casting stones ... most of the posters to this thread HAVE tats ... they just aren't trying to impress anyone. If you post an opinion, especially one as strong as telling others what god thinks, expect a response. The responses all seemed pretty tame to me, and I don't remember Orange asking anyone to stick up for him.

My reaper tattoo took three hrs. to get done. I have five tats, and two had to be done in two sittings, one of them redone twice, and ontouched up. Total time for all was about 20hrs. my wifw has two, and she has had one touched up two sittings for about 3hrs worth of time. Just a note I just got a RoadBike magazine dec-jan issue on page 92 Dawg has a ad with what I would like for a VTX tattoo, it's like flames on each side, and like flam devil horns on it, insted of tribal flames. im not in to the tribal thing much so I like this design better, and it has the vxt above the design.

That's a cool design and would look great as a Tat. There is a great picture of it on his site but can't post it because of the way the site is set up. Ask Dawg if he'll let you use it, looks even better in color.

well I try real hard not to make fun out of anyone for anything, im shure I have been guilty of it at one time or another, but hope im growing out of that crap more now that im getting older. I do find my self making fun of my harley freinds here and there. Is that bad? They do the same to me, and it is in fun. Hey slim, I hope to get a chance to meet you, and go for a ride this year. man just saw my last post here, must have had my head up my a$$, spelling sucks, my four year old can do better. Joe have you talked with the tattoo guy? did he come up with a price? will he do a tattoo party, or do we have to go there? I would rather he come to the house for a tattoo party, gives us a good reason to get together, not that it's hard for anyone to come up with a reason. LOL.

The guy I am working with just closed up his shop on Washington Av. because of divorce. He'll only do house parties now for cash. I'll give him a call and get some dates he's available, and what's good for those that want to get one also. May just have to set up a date and go with it. Don't have any prices because don't know if it's a flat rate or individual price per tat. Give me a couple of days and I'll find out. Do we have a count for who and how many?

AND if I have to worry about spelling I guess I have to use the PHONE :lol:

As I said before I am willing to have the party at my house all VTXers can come, wifes welcome to, and kids. I would want to do it on a weekend, like a sat. and would like to do it on a weekend my wife is off work. She works this weekend 8th and 9th, she is off every other weekend so you can get the idea here. Just let me know what you come up with Joe we can work it out.

ps......me personally, I would rather have one done at the artist's shop than someone's house. I want to see the needles come out of the sterilizing machine, and not just pulled out of a plastic bag that he carried over in duffle bag. But that's just me........to each his own.

Talked to one of the artist who said he would do a house party, but, not till end of Feb. Also, 10 people, $50. min. for each tat.or $100 min. for 5 people. But each tat would still would have it's own price.
Still have one more to talk to so stay tuned. Hopefully today.

Went to http://www.skincandytattoo.com AND TALKED TO THEM. THEY WONT DO A HOUSE PARTY BECAUSE OF LEGAL THINGS. THEY HAVE ABOUT 6 ARTISTS. If we art interested we can all show up at the store in Racine (Washington Av.) and get all ours done at about the same time. Would have to call and set it up tho.
Dawgs art work would be about $120 for a 2x3, basicly his prices are judged on time. If you go bigger than more time more money. A 4x5 of the same tat would be $180.
The $120 one is the size about the picture I photoshoped with it on my arm.

How many guys are thinking about this so I can get a number.

Back to work and the tires are done but not back on the bike yet. This weekend if it warms a little.
