Hey matchstick, I have an aunt and uncle who live in MD and he works for the Dept. of Veteran Affairs in DC. I was thinking about meeting this group in TN and riding the rest of the way with them. I think we may have a place to stay in DC at my aunt and uncle's house. They have wanted me to go to Rolling Thunder for a while now. They both ride Harley's but don't care what you ride. Very cool people. My plans are up in the air right now, but I may be interested in going.

Sorry, but I didn't see that they do go through Corydon. That would be great. I would love to do that. My dad was a Vietnam Vet and in his honor I would love to do this.

As a matter of fact matchstick, here is the email that my uncle sent me. I don't think they would notice a couple extra riders.
:D
OK Matt, Here's the plan! You need to convince Bruce, you know, "Carma's husband", to join in The Run for The Wall (RFTW)! This is been going on for over fifteen years and it gets bigger every year. This run links up with Rolling Thunder as it travels across the country. Indiana has always been a pit stop for these guys. Once you get here you can stay at our place. It will be a little crowded but what the heck. We will have a quite a few bikes leaving out from our house. If you ride with us, you will have the opportunity to be at the front of the parade. I will be the spokesperson for the VA Central Office on Rolling Thunder. We will also have the Vietnam Women's Memorial and some Gold Star Mothers with us. This is for the Veterans and there issues but it is a good time to be had by all. The day of the parade is the day when we all get serious and make it known that we support our veterans. Tom Ridge, Anthony Principi, and others will be up there somewhere with us. We usually average about 400,000 bikes over the weekend. The AMA has now rated Rolling Thunder the largest three day rally in the US. You will probably arrive here on a Thursday. We will be doing a lot of activities and a lot of riding. so bring your iron butt! We will feed, house and clothe you while you are here. Cheryl always cooks like a platoon is coming over for dinner! We can meet you when you get in with RFTW and, follow us home. We live a little over an hour south of DC. Bring rain gear!!!! RFTW is pretty strict when riding in a large group. A three mile long group of bikers means riding straight, sober and staggered. No horse play! They will be mostly Vietnam Veterans and supporters and families riding with you. We have found out, that there will be a lot of Iraqi veterans riding to Rolling Thunder also. If you don't want to ride with RFTW, I know of three groups of bikers in Indiana that will gladly take you on board. They usually leave in groups of fifteen to twenty five bikes at a time. Or you can put a noose around Bruce's neck and ride out with him. I think every man should spend at least forty eight hours away from their wife every every fifty years. I think that's fair! We want you to come out for this and see the Plaque for those veterans that have past away that was dedicated. This is for injuries and illnesses that took them and their names could not be etched on the Wall. I have always felt that your dad was affected by Agent Orange in Thailand while he was there. Bob was there during the same time I was during the Easter Offensive in 1972. Ride Safe. DOC

Hey Matchstick, I am still trying to convince the wife to let me go. I will know in the next few weeks if it will be possible. If we don't hook up with the group, I would be willing just to get a small group together to ride out there seperate. I will keep you updated.
