Just picked up my "new" VTX 1800 today from Brooklyn and rode it to North Shore LI....lots of layers kept me plenty warm...had to do it TODAY because the seller made a spontaneous decision to sell and I was afraid he would back out of the deal. Rode fast to beat the "imposing" snow-storm (that hasn't happened) and have it tucked away now. Does this qualify me for initiation into the NY VTX club?

Talk about craving a ride...this winter wait is going to KILL me.

As a result of the VTX purchase, I need to dispense with my 2001 Yamaha V-Star 1100 Classic, 8500 miles, blue/black OEM paint, lots of accessories (windshield, saddlebags, chrome, etc...all Yamaha equipment, except for the Jardine Oil Filter Relocation Kit) Great chick's bike, if you are looking to put wheels under your dame. Low center of gravity and easy to maneuver. My friend calls it the "Yama-couch" because it is such a comfortable ride. Beautiful bike that has been well cared for. Available for viewing on the weekends. I might even be willing to deliver!!! $6200 OBO I'll post this in the classifieds too, but just thought I would offer it to NYers first. These are popular and reliable bikes. Reason for sale: Elimination of last association with the ex...time for a fresh start with the VTX. Bigger IS better!!!!

Scimel,
Hey buddy, congratulations on your new purchase. I bought my 1800C over the summer and absolutely love it. I've been out a few times this winter before the snow and salt on the road. I wish I had the money to accessorize, but not rich enough. Best of luck with the new bike.

If the roads are clear and the temp is above 45deg. I'll shoot over RM pky to Captree Boat Basin and then along Ocean pky. to Jones Beach and back, I have a windshield so it isn"t to bad. Hope to do this thru the winter.
