Anyone plan on going to Daytona sometime in Bike Week?

Last yr, I rode over on Tues visited Wed and rode back Thurs. Just wanted to see the fuss. Liked it. If I'm off (not offshore) I'm probably up for a 5 day trip (1 over 3 there 1 back). I'd plan to see the races at the track.
It's 11 1/2 to 12 hours each way.

VTX power. One of the best T-shirts I saw in Daytona was "I rode my bike to TrailerWeek"
I stopped every 110-120 miles, cruising at an indicted 80mph which is probably about 74 mph. Haven't calibrated the speedo, but a good educated guess is approximately 8% optimistic. No speeding tickets and passed through plenty of radar.
Peed at gas stops, a little junk food now and then and stopped for lunch, sit down quiet and quick.
Even though I use a full face helmert, ear plugs were nice, I have a stock muffler, it was the wind noise. My windshield is too short, 17" Memphis Fats. Lee has a 21" er and that looks about right.
I'm probably going offshore this weekend, right before Mardi Gras for 2 weeks then back home for a week then out 2 more then in about the right time. I'll log in from the rig when my schedule is certain.

I'm going to ride over on the 3rd (Thursday) of March but keep on going past Daytona to Palm Beach to visit relatives. Daytona starts on the 4th and goes to the 13th.

I have the Supervista "cruise", a throttle friction device, that's very handy on cross country trips where it's mostly flat land. $26 or so. I got mine at Boyce.

My route is complicated, east on I-10 to the Atlantic turn south on I-95.
It's really better than I-75 and the Sunshine State Pkwy, a whole lot less traffic, the entire population of Michigan goes to DisneyWorld on I-75.

I've got to catch the helicopter back offshore on the 8th so, I'm coming back on Sunday the 6th. Crap, I'll miss another one. :x

Hey Y'all, I plan to leave March 9th, stop somewhere between here and St Augustine, stay in At Aug the 10 & 11 and leave the 12. Not set in stone but my plans as of now.

See the above in general messages. Kevin is having a Bonfire/cookout and camping for VTXer's in FL near Daytona. He has a farm there.

Hey all. I am hoping to go. I am going to be in Tampa on March 3rd though the 6th. I won't be able to ride there since my girlfriend and the dogs might be a little uncomfortable on the back. Anyone trailering their bikes? I was hoping that mine might be able to hitch a lift.
