Myself, and four other riders are booked about 3miles from the event. If anyone is interested in riding up, we should organize it.

I am probably leaving early in the morning on June 6th

Honda Davidson, where are your reservations at? We are booked at the Sagamore in Bolton Landing. T-Bone.

I don't have reservations yet, was thinking about camping out locally. Have camping gear ready to go. I'll be looking for you NY X'ers. We should plan on a meeting place when there. I've never been to Americade. Sounds like a good thing. Been to Daytona a few times, very crowded, exciting.

Hi Hilf, glad to see ya on the board. Catskill mts heh? Where? I used to live in Rosendale. Still have relatives there and visit frequently. Next time we are down that way on the bike we ought to get together. As far as Americade goes, I think you will enjoy it. Went last year and what a crowd. Had a blast. Camping up there sounds like a fun thing to do too. But my other half has to have a shower/toilet in the room with her. Better get on the reservations as they fill up quick. Well, as time gets closer we will pick out a meeting place. Last year I think a bunch of riders got together at some Ice Cream stand down by the south end of town. OK, talk to ya later. T-Bone.

Hi T-Bone,
I'm located near Monticello close to the small (really small) town of Hurleyville. I'll look up Rosendale on the map. For now, all I can do is look at it, touch it, sit on it, start it up and buy stuff for it. Whoa, I won't let my wife get close to these remarks....
Actually, she understands my passion for riding, always has, and allows me to do it. Aaah, retirement (for now), is great.

I am thinking of going...not too sure at this point....looks like fun. Would probably go for 2 days...most amount of time I can spare. Which is the best day to be there?

I am riding up with a Kawi rider, Yamaha rider and a Harley rider. All family. My sister and her husband booked the hotel and said it is three miles from Americade. I am glad to hear the crowd is good at Americade. My wife is riding up with me. The other riders are my father/mother my brother in law/sister and family friend/wife.

If you would like to ride up with that would be great. The more the merrier. As it gets closer I will try and organize a meeting spot on the island.

We want to miss the traffic on Friday, so we plan on leaving around 5-6am. No traffic and then we get the whole day up there to register and stuff.

I've made a reservation at a Lake George campground for 6/6-6/8. I'll leave early on the 6th, going through Kingston, then on up. I plan on heading toward Buffalo after leaving Americade to visit relatives there. All plans are formative at this point.

TB, No problem. I'm very flexible, not on a tight schedule. We'll get together on details as time moves forward. For now, its clearing snow, ice and planning my big trip. Later. Hilf

Been trying to find a room for the past few weeks with no success. I have checked almost 20 miles out and nothing...so it looks like I won't be going...too much for a day trip. Not a biggie... there are plenty of things to do downstate.

RichNY, How are you at camping? I didn't have any trouble getting a spot at a nearby campground. The americade website has links to these places. Som campgrounds have cabins, etc.

Hi TB,
Well, I sent in my Americade registration. The schedule looks great. I may decide to stay an extra day, through Wed. Since I'm retired, I don't have a set timetable. So, I can finally travel with a clear mind and don't have to study the clock or think about work (for now). Sometime before leaving, those of us heading there should coordinate a meeting place. Damn, It snowed again and I'm back to shoveling. And I thought I would be riding sometime this week.
Incidentally, I looked up Rosendale on the map so am now familiar with its location.

Hilf,

I live right next door to you. I eat at Frankie & Johnie's all the time.

We are having a Pre Americade ride in the weekend prior to Americade. Everyone from this board is welcome to show up. Good chance Hal will be here and we are trying to get Wilbur to show up as well.

Check out the Cats-Cade link.

For all the Americade first timers, The vendor section of Americade does not open till Tuesday, 7 June at 9 AM. And the Door guards will not let you in at 8:59.

Hope some of you guys/gals decide to drop in!

Bulldog2, We were just at Frankie & Johnnie's last weekend. So many fine dishes, so little time. So, where exactly (what town/road, etc.) are you? We're off of Brophy Rd. I'm ready to ride as soon as I can get safely out of my driveway.

Guys,

Every year I arrange for a VTX get-together at Americade on Friday afternoon (see posts from previous years). Hal has been generous every year and sponsored the meeting with some giveaways.

If there is any interest, I will be happy to organize another one this year. Also, if there are suggestions on what to do and how -- Bring them on!

I am planning on being at Americade from Tuesday through Sunday.

My buddy and I will be arriving June 8 thru 11. Our wives usally drive up Thursday night . I have gone to the get together at Martha's the last two years and was hoping it would continue this year. We will be at the DEC campground, Hearthstone Point, or the Good Sam campground just down the road.

I will be leaving on June 6, and travelling up with friends riding Kawi, Yami, and even an HD. We are staying near Wilmington, about 90 minutes from Lake George. We spend the entire week riding, so I will be looking for X'ers on the road and in the Lake George area. If I can suggest, the Pumpernickel in Bolton Landing has some of the best german food available today. :) Keep your Knees in the breeze.

vtx13Rider,

I was just in your little town last week. We went up to NYTECH, to purchase a new RC-299 Coats motorcycle changer.

I live in a town right next to board member Hilf. in a little burgh called Woodbourne. You are welcome down here anytime.

I am booked at Lage George Escape from Sunday June 5 thru Sunday June 12. This will be my first year with a cruiser as opposed to my crotch rocket over the past several years. My new 1800F spec 3 will be in sometime in April. Sportline Honda in Queensbury/Lake George is the best dealer around.

Negative ghost rider the pattern is full. :D I have a house full for AMERICADE every year, but keep trying and ask to be put on a cancelation list. Americade is tough for reservations. Good luck. 8)
