Is there any interest in setting up weekend ride this spring possibly in May? I was thinking maybe a 2 or 3-day ride. Leaving out Friday or Saturday morning and back on Sunday afternoon. This should be enough time hit some Arkansas mountain roads. Lets hear your thoughts and or ideas and see if this can happen.

I will be riding to the Memorial Day weekend rally in Red River NM. Its about a 12/13 hr ride from Lawrence, so I will split it up into 2 days. But my family owns several cabins in Red River, right off the main drag so I can sit and watch the activities from our porch, maybe even down a few :beer3: 8) I am riding with a group of 5 bikes (mixed brands, including a few of the oil donaters), and that number seems to be growing by the day. The rally usually pulls in tens of thousands of bikes, this year is supposed to pull in 20,000+, which in a town of 400 people is HUGE. But a blast, and absolutely the most gorgeous riding to be had. But, I would love to get a chance to ride in Arkansas sometime. Keep us informed!

I have a New Orleans ride in May and then Sturgis this year planned. But count me in on whatever we can come up with.......I should have my new seat by then, so my butt will be happy....lol

Christy and I would be very interested. Christy is getting her 2004 VTX 1300 shipped to us this month so we should both be riding. We probably could not leave until Friday evening after work and would have to be back by Sunday evening.
My son and I are planning a trip to Sturgis the holiday weekend in May if he has the money saved.

Would you be stopping at motels each evening? We are not good campers.

Anyway keep us in mind and if we can make it we will.

I don't know if y'all have been to the Kansas motorcycle riders forum on delphi, but it is a good place to post rides and meet other riders.

My thoughts were to set a weekend that will work for the majority. I am ok with camping however it won’t happen with Sharon. She wants a bed and private shower in the morning. To leave on a Friday night or Saturday morning is ok with me.

I understand the need to save the vacation days for the longer trips.
A Saturday morning would give those a couple of hours away to use Friday evening to stay near the starting point.

There was effort in trying to get together last year late in the year so I thought if it was planned out early enough and well in advance it would stand a better chance. I would like to hear suggestions for the best weekend ride.

What weekend would you like to do this?

What would you consider to be the best area to ride to?

Christy is now off all weekends with her new job. The only weekend I can't go would be the holiday weekend. I am supposed to go to Sturgis with my son.

Airconditioning and showers are a must with me. Others around me will be happier as well!!

keep us informed.

I am heading to Tennessee on Memorial Day for a week's vacation and to Colorado on July 4th weekend. But other than that, my summer is open for rides. The Ozarks are closest for twisties and good mountain riding. I did a trip thru there last year. Although I would prefer camping, I might consider sharing a room with a single rider (save $$). So keep me informed.

Also, I plan on taking some combo fishing/biking trips to SE Kansas this summer. Best of both worlds, if you know what I mean.
