I have been trained in CPR and Children's CPR for years and never had to use it till about 20 minutes ago. I just saved my son's life. My wife calls my name screaming Carson is choking, he was indeed choking blue in the face, gagging. ETC. ( He turned two years old in November) I picked him up and preformed the Child's Heimlich Maneuver and out poped the piece of candy. Color returned to his face and he went right back to playing with his friends( Of course after a very brief cry). Please each of you all go get CPR trained. Please share any oof your CPR stories, remember all it takes is to save but one life to make it worth it, God Bless each and every one of you all, keep it safe to ride yet another day.

Thumbs Up Cookie!!! :beer2: I agree with you, I have a 6 year old son and he scared the heck out of me lastnight. He was eating a Dorito and one got lodgged in his throat. It happend so quick. As I was rushing to him I was wondering "How the heck am I gonna do this." But luckly for me he was able to spit it out quickly. I told my wife that we both have to get training on cpr and hiemlick.

It take only a day to learn out of your busy day, and is priceless when needed.
Have never had to use it on a family member but have on the streets.

Glad to here from both that everything is fine!!

I'm not a Blue Night, yet. I'm looking into starting a local chapter.

I just started teaching CPR for our department. The last several years we had not done infant/ child, becuase "we didn't have time". I complained, and now I'm teaching CPR, but we got them trained in infants/ children again.

You don't use it much, but it's very important when you do. Your story is an example of one of the arguements I used to get them to start training right again.

Glad to hear it went well, and congrats. It's not often that you get to use your training for something so important.
