Fellow WIVOS,
Please visit the link below and tell me if this is something we can use.
The link goes to an event calendar that we can use to post rides. It can be setup to allow passworded entry so if you have a password, you can post your own event, or we can have just a few that have editing rights. In the later case, you would submit the info to one of the people with edit rights and they would post the info for all to see.
The ride list would include all major rides (example: Ride for Kids) as well as local poker runs and other charity events along with WIVO planned trips. I know last year , between baseball events, I was looking for rides and found out about a lot of them after the fact. These were mainly smaller local poker run type rides etc. A calendar format would be the easiest way to quick view whats coming up at a months glance.
The link can be posted on the other web sites we have out there so there is one general place to go for ride info.

Mike thats a great Idea. It will make it easier to find TWT. I also like the idea of a few having editing rights. By only having a few people with editing rights it will help keep the calander organized.
What does WIVOS stand for?

Can't get the link to come up, but sounds like a plan. Always found out to late also (maybe that was planned :wink: )
Maybe add a meeting place to each ride so as to meet up and ride together. (I get lost easy :? )

Calendar is a great idea. But, like Joe, link won't open for me :(
Irregardless, I think only a few should have the password. Too many people editing the thing might make it almost worthless. I wouldn't post every ride we hear about (there are a bunch of those already www.chicagomotorcycleguide.com (http://www.chicagomotorcycleguide.com) is my fav), just the ones we plan on being at.

The WIVO calendar has not been touched since 12-22-04 :( I think there needs to be more the one person taking care of it, I know people get busy and that way 2-3 can put rides or an event on as thay come up

I love the idea, but that website does not appear to be very stable.
Like others out here....I am having one heck of a time getting the page to come up. When it does come up, it is very slow, then when I click a link it can't always find the new pages.
The idea is awesome. Maybe we could find somewhere else to host it though.

Hmmm, I noticed it was slow last night, figured that was because I was logged in and adding info. I will stay out of it for a while, let me know if its better.

Great idea Acro, might be able to make more meets if we know about them sooner.
It opens for me OK, and I'm on roadrunner.... Didn't seem to have any problems getting it to come up and the pages change pretty good. Try checking your Internet Explorer settings.

The calendar is where it is. Not sure if it can be moved to a different server or not. Dont really see any need for it be really. All we would need to do is have a link on the other websites that point to it, something as simple as RIDE CALENDAR CLICK HERE==>
I would love to see us have one website for the WIVO's. I will have a few extra servers available in a few weeks as well I think, so I could host it if all works out. My problem is I use a very specific program for developing websites that is not user friendly for guys that might be using something like front page or other traditional software. I wouldnt mind upkeeping a site, I used to keep 5 sites for past interests updated daily. I will just have to wait and see what these servers can do and how they are setup before I could commit the space.

Going good thanks. Been so damn busy I dont even know what day it is anymore. Since you work up that way, one of these days you will have to stop by and check the place out. I will be here in Illinois all next week then back up in Milwaukee the week of April 3rd. Just give me a call on your way past
