This seasons rides

Ok, yes I officially have cabin fever. Getting out the other day for a short ride has had it's toll on me.

Lets post some ideas for rides/meets this summer. Obviously we have three huge events scheduled for this summer already. The Homecoming, The Hoot and Coloradical.

Outside of those, Spike is working on a central Il. meet/greet. Last year there were a few rides, Starve Rock, Galena, El Paso? Dells etc. I assume Dells will be an yearly event and is planned for the color change in early fall.

So, post some stops you would like to see for this riding season. I understand some are doing two of the big rides and that will limit them from doing a lot of overnight trips, but there are probably a lot more that are not doing any of the big rides, so they might still be interested in 2 day weekend rides. I know my schedule with Little League limits me some until around the 4th of July.

I will toss one out there:
Northwoods of WI. in Late Aug. This would be a Sat/Sun trip. Leave early and do a slow ride up towards Eagle River or even Madaline Island. Basically leave early and ride all day, stop for night and start a slow ride back home on Sunday. Could include MN. VTXers for a meet/greet.

I'd like to ride the big river Mississippi. Lots of great old river roads, old locks&dams, Eagle spotting, the Iowa Machine Shed for lunch/dinner in the QuadCities. 8)

May 14-15 I'm going to Hell.........Michigan that is. There is an annual Bike Blessing there. Usually get a couple thousand bikes out for it.

Where else can you get "Blessed in Hell"! :D

I thought the pre- and post- season rides to the Dells worked out pretty well last year ... one in early may and the one in the fall before and after the vacation / tourist season and there was lots of talk about just heading west to the mississippi and running north until we found a good place to stop then either crossing for the trip back the next day or heading back into WI for the trip home

Not May....I'm heading down to Myrtle Beach Bike week around the middle of the month, then don't plan on getting back home until early June.

The sooner we get a date nailed down, the sooner guys can put it on their calendars and make plans to attend. JMO.
