Yep, it's still winter outside, but I'm already planning on lots of rides when the weather breaks. Here are some upcoming ride opportunities that I will try to make, weather permitting. Anyone else interested?
March 19 - Abate Capitol City MC Show - Topeka
April 9 - Easy Riders MC Show - Kansas City (Bartle Hall)
Any others?

I plan to be at both shows, but I only have a chance in April to ride. My bike will be getting some new colors in March, and hope to have it done by April, but that is still up in the air. Cassoday in May for sure tho!

Sweet! I hope the weather cooperates for both. But a ride to KC definitely means late night riding or an overnite stay.
I am working diligently on some modes for my ride now, so I hope to be done by mid-March!
And Cassoday in May will be on the agenda. I may even get the wife to come this year!

I think we would be up for these as long as the weather cooperates. Looking forward to Cassoday as well.
We only have one issue, Christy has a torn Miniscus in her knee and she may need surgery. If so I don't know how long the healing process takes.
We'll keep you posted.

The YMCA ride sounds like fun, so I'll add it to my calendar. However, the link for the Kansas ride calendar wasn't working.

I just tried the link posted and it opened right up. There may have been some cyber-demons lurking when you tried. Hope it works for you this time.

All weather dependent since I am so far away.
BTW, gimme some details on how you cut the design in your air cover. Also, what do you use to back it with?

Here is what I did to make my airbox: (I apologize if the some of the steps sound juvenile)
1) removed airbox cover and covered the area to cut with masking tape. (i just covered the whole thing)
2) drew my design on the tape to cut out. keep it simple. that plastic cover is thicker thank you think. so the more intricate the design the tougher to cut out
3) used a heavy duty cut off wheel on my dremmel to cut out the design. dremmel makes different cutting bits but i was most comfortable with the wheel.
4) after cutting out the design, i used a file to make sure the edges where i cut were smooth.
5) i wasn't happy with how all the edges turned out. :? it wasn't bad but some of the chrome chipped a little so i retaped the airbox and cut out about 1/4" around the design and lightly sanded the exposed chrome around the design so when i painted it-it would stick better. wiped the dust off after sanding and spray painted it black (the area cut around my design). I used whatever i had in the garage so i am sure you could use any color. i let the paint dry and removed the tape.
6) after doing this i found the airbox mod with my k&n let too much air in the carb. so i used metal screen like you would find on a patio door or storm window, and layered it in a criss cross fasion on the inside of the airbox to restrict the air flow a little more. i just cut a piece of screen big enough to cover the area. layed it on the inside of the aircover. marked where the support fins were located and cut slits in the screen so it would slide down towards the front of the airbox cover.
7) put it all back together and get compliments from your buds.
it is as easy as that.
 NOTE: be sure to wear eye protection of some kind when cutting the airbox cover. that plastic gets hot when you are cutting it and flies everywhere.
i kinda zipped through the directions so feel free to contact me if i can be of any help.
you also may want to do a search of cool runnings posts on the 1300 Riders Board. He has also done a similar mod.
have fun and lets see pictures when you are done.
