In case you guys haven't been to the General board lately. LaMont is looking for an approximate head count for the 1000 VTX ride in Marysville.

Also, if you could post on this thread as well, so I have an approximate count for the group that will meet at the Speedway in Indiana on the way to Marysville. Thanks 8)

Hoovey,
Spike is coming from Chicagoland, heading towards Ft Wayne. If you're in Santa Clausland thats waaaay outa da way for you.
I plan on riding across on I-74 to Indianapolis and then across on I-70 towards Columbus. In the past I've met up with guys at Crawfordsville. If theres interest we could hookup somewhere along the route. East of Indy would work well also.

I'll be heading over from the Crawfordsville area on Thursday the 28th. Love to hook up with others if you're coming through that day. My first choice is to stay off the Interstate but I'll be happy to follow the group if that's the path.

My best guess is that its about 300 miles from Crawfordsville to Marysville. I want to get to my hotel in time to check-in by around 4pm and then boogie over to the festivities and learn about check-in for the ride, etc. I figure it'll be around 50 miles of secondary roads near Columbus, so thats far enough for me. Hence, I want to cruise interstate for the time factor.
Not sure about when daylight savings time kicks in (for us Illinoisans). So tentatively figure on hitting Crawfordsville around 9 or 10 am. That may change however if others want to join in and how long they want to pitstop. Note: If I've got my GO boots on I don't want 30 minute gas stops!

We aren't going down that far to Indy. Likely take rt30 across Indiana into Ohio. 8)

Bluemac,
As close as we are to each other we defentily need to get together for the trip over. Hopefuly between now and then we can get together and work out a route. Do you ever make it east on sr 66 or sr62 to the Perry county area?? I know several back roads in the area lets get together sometime.

Sounds good! Pick a place thats convenient, either before or after Indy. I'm sure as the time grows near, there'll be more people wanting to tag along.
