Just got a 2005 1800 retro couple of weeks ago from Summit Honda. Only have ~120 miles on it so far - weather and travel are conspiring against me :-( Did ride yesterday for ~70 mile round trip from Utah County to the mouth of Big Cottonwood.

Been reading the general posts and Utah group. Lots of good info. Looking forward to meeting up sometime for rides and ideas on necessary ;-) upgrades/addons.

Steve, welcome aboard. Burke at Summit Honda is a great guy and you got yourself a great bike. There are a lot of good VTX riders here in Utah, along with other bike riders, too. You'll have fun getting to know and ride with your fellow VTXers.

Welcome to the board steveinutah, I'll echo what mountain flier said, Lots of info here along with good friends to ride with. I do look forward to meeting with you in the future. Hopefully the weather will allow us a good ride weekend soon. There will be a Polar Bear Ride on the 13th of March hope to see you there. I would like have a gathering of X'ers so we can go to the ride all together, because if we go individually chances are we'll never see each other. I'm thinking their is going to be about 2000 bikes if not more. Any way, keep your eyes peeled for more info.

Welcome, dude. We're getting more X'ers and others here all the time, and this is good. We could easily have 10-20 guys ride together for the Polar Bear Run. We had nine get together last Fall, and have been adding steady numbers since then. A real bonus is that there are really good people here that love to ride. It'll be good to meet you - just be ready to rap the throttle pretty hard if you're planning on keeping up with DrywallMan!! You can always ride in the back with me.

Steve,

I'm new here also. Just got my X in December. I live just down the road from you - give me a shout if you ever want to get together for a ride.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm planning on doing the ride. Seem to remember a few years ago it went from SLC out around Toole, south and back thru Lehi to SLC again.

If the weather's not too severe ( < 50 F ) my wife plans to ride her Heritage. Following the Polar Bear thread, I see some want to meet up for breakfast, then mosey on over to SLC Harley for the ride. I'll keep tabs on the discussion to see where and when.

Other than that, I'm playing it by ear for riding this weekend. I'm game if the weather is mostly sunny and above 40 F. Got to get a windshield.
