Weatherman said it was going to go up to the 50's today, but by 1 p.m. it was 60! Said the heck with doing housework, it will wait. Hubby and I rode around Lake McConaughy today, He on his Voyager and me on my X. The lake is starting to fill up a little more. It was around 52 by the time we got home. At least I can mark a day off in February that I rode :D The tulips are starting to pop up, so spring can't be far away (neither can the blizzard we usually get in March) Want to do a lot more riding this year. I just got my X in December, and need to put some miles on this year :mcrider:

The weather in Beatrice wasn't as nice as the weather in Ogallala, but it was riding-weather here in Southeast Nebraska. I rode my X to work today, and I enjoyed every minute of the ride.

I purchased my first bike--a Rebel--to ride to and from work every possible day. Within six months, I upgraded to the Shadow Aero (750) which was introduced as a 2004 model, because I wanted to ride the highways, as well as have more enjoyment from riding to and from work. Several months ago, I moved up to a VTX 1300, and I'm glad I did ... the bike is a really great machine with enough agility to comfortably ride city streets to and from work and with enough power to ride safely on any highway and interstate.

When I bought my first bike--the Rebel--I decided that my bike was first and foremost a working bike and that I'd ride it every single day of the year that it was safe to ride. If the roads aren't icy, I ride, unless the cold and the wind make it utterly miserable to do so. I purchased cold-weather riding gear so that I can comfortably ride when the temperature is in the 20's. I don't pack up the bike in the winter; it's sitting in the garage right now, on a Battery Tender, Jr., waiting to fire up for the next ride. I've ridden every possible day this winter. Rain or shine, hot or cold, I'm riding my X, a tremendous working bike with enough style, as a stock bike, to turn heads.

X family.... I started riding about 5 years ago after about a 20 years. I took the MC refresher class and started with a 84 Honda 750 mag, moved up to a 84 Gold Wing 1200 cc and than to 95 Gold Wing 1500 cc and last year I traded the Wing for a 2004 1300 C and couldn't be happier. Great Bike. The wife doesn't like to ride that much and the GW is good for the hightway... However the VTX is great for both the high way and the turns  Just a little to cold in Omaha for riding and I don't like all the sand on the roads. The good weather is just around the corner...hope to see ya out there someday....cougar
