Reservoir cover design

I’ve been working on a suggestion for a reservoir cover design. The variety of state covers is impressive, the quality of the designs are very good. One of the best designs comes from Texas:

The shape of Nebraska could be used, but Nebraska’s shape is not the Icon that Texas’s is.

We could add our name to this design, a cool looking X flame design, Used by Calf, and Carolina

I’d like to see us come up with something from Nebraska or at least say Nebraska.

Not a finish drawing, and the conversion program dwg to ipg is a little rough

As much as I like the message, I would suggest taking off the "Ride Hard" "Ride Safe" parts. Once these are engraved that part will be very difficult to read and will clutter up the cap.

What about the VTX mask with a Husker N on it's forehead, and an X behind the mask, encased in the state shape

i like the texas style the best. more time is spent on the design and less on writing. texas may be a better icon than nebraska. but if that is the design we like we should be afraid to put it on the cover. i think we should keep it simple on the riding. use the shape of nebraska and the put " X RIDERS" OR "VTX RIDERS" just a couple of ideas.

I will work on the sugestions, I like simple and clean looking designs too.
The nebraska outline will take a little time to make in autocad but I will try to post by mid week.

Keep posting those idea's and post some of your own designs as well.
Do it in Paint or something. :wink:

This is the sort of stuff I like to see. I'll doing one with a NEb map as the outer boarder w/ X, Mask w/ N as you suggest and "VTX riders" as LIVEWIRE suggested.

(since I'm got getting one of these, I probably shouldn't get a vote... :wink: but..)

I like the way it's shaping up nicely 8) . I would lose the VTX and exchange it for NE. Or add Nebraska to the top. I think you should have the state referred to somehow besides just the outline. Just some thoughts!

Looks Good! Will the cover be large enough to show all of the detail? I agree that we need the words "Nebraska" and "VTX" or "X" or "VTX Riders" or "X Riders." And, I agree that we should have the outline of Nebraska as a backdrop. I don't know if the helmet and crossed swords, or whatever they are, will cause the design to look cluttered when it's shrunk to the size of the reservoir cover. If so, I'd say we should use the Nebraska outline, the word "Nebraska" and then one of the variations I mentioned above that incorporates X. I sure as hell appreciate your work, VTXHogg, and I appreciate Cougar's work in keeping the list of possible buyers straight.

These are all good. I think we should keep it simple IMHO. I think too much lettering will get cluttered in the chrome on just a reservoir cover. A simple design looks better, allows for easier work, and explodes the possibilities if we decided to keep (and add to) the design for shirts, other emblems, etc.

looking good. definitly like the outline and the banners. i think the design should either loose or shink the "X" behind the mask. or loose the mask. i agree with heavy. we may be geting to cluttered. maybe try the lower banner, outline, mask, and maybe the top banner. we appreciate all the work you are doing on this. keep the size you working with and i don't know if it is possible but maybe try to shrink it to the size of the covers on the other pics. maybe this will give us an idea how cluttered it may be.

We are all a team with the same goal. To design a cover that will look good no matter who's VTX it's on and to let people know we are from Nebraska. Anyone can and should help us achieve these goals.

Nothing is final but we should wrap up any changes and add any new designs by Sunday, compare notes and vote (pole) on a final design I'll be happy to assist on any design.

We have finished up the cover for you and have posted the picture of it under the 'NE master cylnder covers LIST' post. That way all the orders and communication will be under just one post
