I see all these cool VTX state patches, Virgina, California, etc. Does anyone have a line on a Md patch, or do we need to come up with our own? Is anyone interested?

Looks like we're going to have to come up with one. I haven't seen anything yet.

Hey BIGK_1, where in B-more? I'm in middle river.

Hey BIGK_1, where in B-more? I'm in middle river.

I live in Canton, 2 blocks from Patterson Park. When the weather breaks we should take a ride maybe to Big Falls for beef and BEER : We need to work on a patch also. http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/uploads/bigk_1_DJUDB.jpg

Hey BigK_1,

I drive by Patterson park all the time when I go to The Daily Grind in Fells Point.

Big Falls? Sure I'm up for a Beef and Brew. Although, big falls is a place I usually DON'T frequent that often.

A patch? I really wouldn't know where to start. Maybe take an existing design like the Raven's logo, Remove the B & R, try to redisgn it with a VTX logo in there somewhere. Would probably be easier to do "a sticker' first.

Do you Know (or know of) Rocco? He's the MD chapter coordinator (or whatever). He does a pretty good job getting the word out about VTX rides here in MD. Contact him and he'll put you on his mailing list. He's at;
neenroc@msn.com

Did we meet at Charm City Cycle over the summer? It's on middle river road. Does your nephew ride a Valkyrie? Your bike looks familiar.

Weather, good or bad. I'm down for the count for a little while. I get a hernia operation tomorrow morning. Even if it gets beautiful out, I won't be riding for at least a month.

Later,

haven't been checking out the forum much lately. I thought about trying to come up with a patch before, but didn't think there would be interest. I could try and make something up on the computer. I'm no pro, but I could do something simple. I wouldn't know where to go to actually get them made. I'll work on something over the weekend.

Hey Cruz,
If you could come up with a cool idea,(no sports, sorry Ron). My sis in law has a computerized sewing machine that does imbroidery. Mybe I can bribe her if we pay for materials.

Came up with a couple different ideas. Was trying to keep it simple so it would be easy to embroider. Feel free to make any suggestions for improvements.

They all look good. How about #3 with the flames? We could use some input from all the Md X'ers

Love this idea!

From the start, let me say I'm no artist. I like the designs that Cruzin Pa put out, but I would love to see something a bit more representative of our fine state (no crabs please). I think we have the coolest looking state flag. I love the colors and design (even if it is a bit Nascarish). Can one of you picassos work the flag into a patch design?

Now thant's what I'm talking about!

Beautiful design Cruz. You're good at this. Even worked in the oriole color and all. Nice. :D

How can I get one?

Thanks DB, I'm still learning how to use photoshop. The last one is probably the best I can come up with. I like it the best also. I guess we'll wait and see if we all agree on it. The orioles color was by accident, but it works. Colors can be changed up a little if anyone has anymore suggestions.

Impressive, I like the last one with the MD colors in it.

OK guys. Don't want to hurt any feelings here but....

1. Good Job. I like the first one. The X is real big so everyone can see it. It includes the 1300 & 1800 in the patch. It's clean, simple and to the point.

2. I don't care for the flame thing going on in the patch. Why does everything have to have either flames or skulls associated with it? Seems (to me anyway) that it draws your eye away from the X. The X isn't "pronounced" as much with those flames on the side.

3. The last one is nice. (the oval one). I like including the flag, or Md colors in it.

4. An idea here. You'll notice they're all round (or oval) and sitting on a square (one rectangle) white backdrop. Why not set the oval one on a MD flag (it's rectangle anyway) as a backdrop. Then take the little "flagy things" off of the big X. The flag is rectangle anyway. The oval will fit right on top of it. Now, one more thing. Now with the flagy things gone, Add the 1300 & 1800 on both sides of the X as it is on the first one.

5. Almost there now. Now, I don't know about you guys but I'd rather see us have a black patch than a white one. How about making the Patch black (instead of white) and making the letters ("Maryland VTX Riders") red instead of black.

OK Cruzn. What do ya think now? Just my opinion guys. BTW, GREAT JOB SO FAR!

My 2nd choice is #2.

BIG1_K or is it BIGK-1,

I really like the chrome accent around the bottom of your tank. Is that a custom piece? If not, where did you get it?

I just noticed that Ghengis Ron uses "Ron" as his signature, so I gotta find my own.

Unsigned for now.

They are sitting on squares or rectangles because I didn't want to spend the time cutting them out to make a .gif. The actual patches were designed to be circular or oval. I already thought about making the whole background the flag, but it will look way to 'busy' and the text will not stand out like it does now. I appreciate the feedback, but I'm not going to spend the time on a design I'm sure won't look good. The last one looks simple but still took about 3 hours to make. I fine tuned it a little more from what you see, but it's still the same just cleaned up a little more. There's one more variant of it I'm gonna make, just changing it from a white background to a black background with white lettering.

CruznPA

Redesigned with black backgrounds and extracted from the boxes so nobody will be confused as to what the patch is intended to look like.

This one I personally don't like because there is too much red and orange on it.
http://www.cruisingpa.com/images/forumpics/s6black2.gif

This one I think looks good, but the orange just didn't seem to go well with black for some reason. So I made everything the same color as the red in the flag. Letters are now white obviously. This would also possible make it easier to get made since if the patch material is black we would only need yellow, white and red thread.
http://www.cruisingpa.com/images/forumpics/s7redx2.gif

I'll change colors around on any of these designs of somebody wants to see something different. Sorry, but I'm not making any new designs.

That looks OUTSTANDING.

On my computer, I can't tell if that's red or orange you're using. I wouldn't use the black/orange combo simple because those colors are SO associated with H-D motorcycles.

The patch looks great as is. Let's go with it.

Thanks for putting in all the time and effort.

Hi guys. I am kind of new here. Just bought my VTX 1300 C one month ago.
I am very interested in the patches. Please let me know when they are ready. Thanks.

I think the patch thing kind of died, I checked places on the internet and for a patch around 5 inches big would be about $5 each IF 100 were ordered. I haven't checked locally yet, but most places willprobably want a minimum order of 20 to cover set-up charges. If someone knows anybody that does that kind of thing maybe they can step up and take it to the next level.

I love the idea about the patch! I want one! The one with the State flag colors. I will help anyone I can to find out if we can get some made. There's a truck accessory place, across from Koons Ford, on Pulaski Hwy where the wife does embroidery. Maybe I can check with her. Let me know.
