Eye In The Sky

Hey All!
Just found this site yesterday. I guess there is now a message board for everything...:-). I did my homework researching bikes. I really thought I wanted a Harley until I realized that the ridiculous prices are not worth what you are getting. I wanted the HD V-Rod for the look and the power, but the price tag didn't seem to be worth it. I searched the internet for their invoice price and found that they mark most of their bikes up over 20% over the invoice cost! I went to a HD dealer and tried to haggle the price after showing that I new about the high markup. The salesman said that they don't haggle the MSRP! In disgust, I went to a Honda dealer(Dreyer in Indy) and was immeadiately drawn to the VTX. That power and style sealed the deal. I found out about the hold-over '03's that Honda is handing out to various dealers and starting digging. Dreyer Honda has two '03s listed at $10000, but I found a dealer in Missouri (Procycle in Columbia) that is selling the same bike for $7999! It is a black VTX 1800C with zero miles. I rented a trailer and will be making the trek early in the morning. I am pumped. Yeah, it is a 5 hour drive to get it, but I am saving $2000 from the price at Dreyer Honda. I think it is worth it. I am getting more, or close to the power of the HD V-Rod at less than half of the price($16500) that Harley is asking! I don't think Honda has changed an enormous amount from '03 to '05, so I am getting a new bike for about $4500 under the '05 retail price! There are few things better in life than getting exactly what you want for half the price you thought you would spend. From what I am learning and what you guys are saying, I am going to love this bike.
Have a good one,
EITS
