Hi Guys,
Have posted this ride for all types of bikes (not just VTXers) on behalf of Brisbane Bikers - thought someone may be interested in joining us. If you are then email Rod (address at bottom of post)............
The ride will happen, rain hail or shine on 23rd, 24th and 25th April 2005.
Some changes have been made to the route to accommodate a lap of "The Block", a piece of road that has become legendary since the recent sealing of the last stretches of it. "The Block" is Wauchope, Taree, Nabiac, Krambach, Buckets Way to Gloucester, Thunderbolts Way via Nowendoc to Walcha, then Walcha to Wachope via the Oxley. Held by many to be the best piece of road for motorcycles, anywhere.
Details are given for Tourist Parks where we will be staying, they offer a wide range of accommodation choices, which are available on a first come, first served basis. It is up to YOU to make the bookings for your accommodation, we won't be booking anything for you. If you don't book,
there’s every chance that you will miss out.
Keep in mind that there are groups joining the ride along the way, and we could have anything up to 100 bikes if the weather is good. So accommodation (especially higher level accommodation) will be at a premium. BOOK TODAY.
If you want to join in the social events at the restaurants, I need to know name and phone number of all attendees, for catering numbers. If you haven't booked you won't be able to attend, because you won't be catered for.
Itinery (still subject to changes, but only minor ones)
($) = This will cost you something
( 48 ) = Numbers after towns are distance from previous town

(Total ride distance over three days is expected to be about 1,800Km)
Some considerations:
* NSW long weekends have double demerit points, be warned.
* NSW cops are a law unto themselves on loud exhausts, check with MRAQ ( www.mraqld.org (http://www.mraqld.org) ) for a required muffler sticker kit.
* Because you know where you are going to, you can go at your own pace. Each day is about 550Km in 10 or so hours. Not too difficult to achieve.
* If you can't or don't ride, you can get involved in the support side, and be a part of it. If you would like to take your own (non 2 wheeled) vehicle, you are more than welcome.
* You will need to sign a waiver exonerating me from making you have a good (or otherwise) time.
* You can come up from down south and join in, or join in for any sector of the ride.
* We'll have mobile phone and UHF CB communication setup
It differs from most organised rides out of the South East Queensland area, in that it's supported by at least one luggage vehicle with a recovery trailer. It's over three days with 2 nights away from home in whatever accommodation you choose. You can take camping gear (carried in the support vehicle), and camp, or stay in onsite cabins or vans. There are organised social activities which you can join in, or do your own thing. You can lead the pack, or putt along at the rear, all up to you.
Concept of the ride is to give new riders, sportsbike riders, and anyone who hasn't done a long trip on a bike before, or can't carry enough gear with them to stay overnight, a chance to see what it's all about. It's open to all, and there's no cost involved, except for your food, accommodation and entry fees into museums, all of which are paid to the people providing the service, I won't be asking anyone for money. I am merely facilitating the ride, and not involved in any financial gain from the organisation of the ride. I will not be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury sustained to you, your bike, or your belongings on the ride. You and your life are in your own hands, and YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. If you don't agree with this, then don't come on the ride.
In the week running up to the departure, you can drop off any luggage, food, drink, camping equipment, you want carried in the van (make sure it's tagged with your name and rego number for easy ID). The van will carry Unleaded, Premium Unleaded and Diesel fuels for emergencies (If you need it, you replace it at the next service station). Backup foods and drinks, first aid supplies, a generator with emergency lighting abilities, and some basic tools. If you think you'll need spare parts, pack them and they can be taken in the van.
If you want to get involved in this inaugural supported ride, let me know via email rod@cutgrafix.com as soon as possible.
