Is anyone using one of these seat? What have you heard about them?
The best seat you can buy for a VTX!! I have the Ultimate Low Rider on my 1800 C. There are at least a dozen post here about Ultimate Seats. Just look up and down the board or do a search at the top of form.
Wilsondude has one on his retro. I have been on his and it seems very comfortable. I know he likes it. I believe he is going to be on the ride Sunday so if you go you could see it. I am sure he would post here now but he is having too much fun in Hawaii.

Here's my post on the Ultimate seat web site:
Des:
After doing a lot of research, reviewing discussion boards, and talking to associates about bike custom seats I settled on the Ultimate Seat with the Back Support. As soon as I received my seat I easily installed it and took off that weekend on a 600 mile ride. You have to understand my dedication to riding that weekend. It was January, in the middle of winter in Utah, with temperatures near freezing. I rode from Salt Lake City to St George and back. Needless to say, I was the only biker on the roads that day. With my heated gloves and socks I kept pretty toasty warm on my VTX 1300. However, the warmth was not what amazed me the most—it was the comfort of my seat and back support. After having endured long sore rides in the past, I was just amazed with how comfortable my ultimate seat was. I was actually disappointed each time I HAD TO STOP for gas. I could have ridden forever and ever without a sore lower side and back. Thanks for the design and development of the ultimate seat. I now understand the reason you titled your seats ultimate. Now all I need is an ultimate way to keep riding without having to stop for gas.

Dang it, guys, I was just about ready to spend my next big chunk of $$ on some new pipes, then I saw this post today.
Earlier I went for a ride (65 miles) on my lunch (long lunch, I know) and I got a bit of a backache from it ... so now maybe a new seat sounds better (or sits better) than some new pipes.
Why'd you have to go and post this?
Decisions ... decisions ... decisions!

I was thinking pipes too... but my butt kept screaming at me for comfort. If the Ultimate seat company was a publicly traded company I'd certainly buy stock!

Now that you guys got me thinking about seats I've been doing some comparison between Ultimate and the other major brands.
WOW!
Ultimate just flat out beats them on price and overall style. Neither Corbin nor Mustang could come close on price.
For the price of the Corbin seat with backrest I can get the Ultimate with driver backrest and pad for passenger (with studs), plus I love the groovy little details like the stitching and logo.
Anyway ... on their site they say they may show up in Laughlin with product. If I understood their site then I guess they have seats for you to try out on your own bike. Kewl!

You might want to check out Saddlemen Seats.
http://www.saddlemen.com/
Once there, hit Japenese Cruiser
Once there hit Metric Cruiser Saddles
I have the Solo ($249) with sport pillion $(139) (like the looks and my wife doesn't go that often). Love it, especially the SaddleGel where it counts  . It'll sit you down lower just over an inch from stock. Gives you a whole different feeling on your scoot. Makes you feel like your a part of your scoot instead of riding on your scoot.
You can get the Solo with back rest and/or with studs if you like.
They have added both the Profiler and Tour Special to the VTX 1800 lineup, since I purchased my seat. The Tour Special is hard to find on their website and they just made it available for the VTX1800 here's the webpage with backrest (backrest adds $180). http://www.saddlemen.com/tourspecial.html ($349.95 without backrest).

If you shop around, you can buy the above seats for about 10% less than MSRP.

Love my Ultimate Big Boy w/ backrest. I'll be at the Polar Bear Ride tomorrow, so you can check it out.
