Ok I know sound is subjective, however I am looking for pipes for my 1800R. I'm getting the impression that products from Hard Krome are really loud. I'm looking for suggestions on pipes with a good deep rumble and fairly loud. If anyone is familiar with The Roadhouse Slip ons for the 1300R I'm looking for that sound, maybe a little louder. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have heard (not in person) that rhienhardt pipes sound real sweet. But that is only what a freind of mine told me.
I know that is not very helpful but its all I have to offer.
Good luck in finding what your looking for.

I have had a lot of compliments on the sound of my Vance&Hines Big Shots. They are pretty loud when you get down on it, but I like the way they sound when you are chug-a-lugging through town in 4th or 5th gear .

I too am on the hunt....for 6 months now. Can't find any 1800's with aftermarkets. I'm just about ready to take the "blind" plunge into V&H Big Shots w/ PowerComander. I like the idea of a crossover for power. If ANYONE on hear has aftermarkets on an 1800, I'd ride quite a ways to hear it.
The HardKrome 3" ers LOOK awesome....but until I hear them I can't go for it. I don't neccessarily want EXTEMELY LOUD. I've modified my factory mufflers to the extreme. Much better but not quite the sound I want.

Thanks for any input.

I'm happy with my V&H BigShots. But that is on the 1300 and I understand that the 1800 has a totally different sound because of the dual pin crankshaft. I would suggest going to the 1800 board and doing a search for "exhaust". I remember finding a few people who posted links to sound files so you could really hear different systems. I know it is not the same as "feeling" it, but it is better then nothing.

Good Luck.

I LOVE the RH slip ons on my 1800 C, however, the Jardine drag pipes ROCK on an R model! JMHO.

I'm partial to the bigshots, they sound pretty awesome...especially with the thunder monster baffles!

I've got the HK Big 3".
Sounds great, pipes are juuuust even with rear fender, so sound isn't too bad for the pax as we ride.

Will be picking up my new 04 X this Sat and I plan on installing the V&H BS very soon. I have heard them on the 03 and it sounds sweet. Deep Loud sound but not too obnoxious. I also heard the Cobra angle cut on the 04. Was sweet but I like the look of the Big Shots.

I have the V&H's big shots on my 02-c I made a set of baffles for them to get the sound I want, and still not wake up the people that live around me.
They rumble nice and will bark when I get on it hard, at cruise there just enough that the cops don't bother me. It took 5 set of baffles till I got it right( my right if you know what I mean) . (gotta love it)
