Where are your favorite MD roads?
I live in Howard County and I love to cruise around on the back roads that wind through the gorgeous farmland (that is fast disappearing under McMansions). I really enjoy riding around tridelphia resevior on some of the local roads around there. A friend took me on a great ride up north in Baltmore county, around Loch Raven resevior, and I loved it. I don't know the names of the roads, but all that country up there was beautiful and fun to ride.
For me, buying my first bike allowed me to connect with my local area, and made me fall in love with it. Taking roads just for the ride led me to some beautiful spots that I would never have checked out had I been in a car. When I was younger, I used to be really down on Maryland, and tried really hard to get away (made it as far as Nepal and Kuwait). But something brought me back to this area, and riding a motorcycle let me connect to it in a way I never had before.
