Who can I go to for a cheap price on getting my bike's valve adjusted? I read yesterday on Matchstick's entry. Thanks

Hi Slick. Like Matchstick said, my valves were done by HD-Honda Indy- North for about $75. I had asked at Action Motorsports in Lafayette but they estimated about $125 and the tech didn't give me a lot of confidence. You might also give Grumpy a call in Thorntown. He is a Goldwing specialist but he might be able to do an X. I don't have a clue what he might charge.

We'll have to get together when the weather warms up for some rides. I live just a few miles from you if you're in Darlington.

IMHO it is really not that difficult to do them yourself. I had the dealer do the first service at 600 miles for around $250.00 (including valve adjustment). I decided that was not going to happen again since I got the place and got the tools, so I did it myself every time since. I have done all the maintenance. What else ya gonna do since it's too nasty to ride anyhow. If you are fortunate enought to own a 1300 there are plenty of how to's on the 1300 general board.

Hey! I know grumpy. It has been so long ago that I had been there, (9) years or so that I forgot about him. Thanks for the info on doing it myself. I also have a place and time but doen't it take a special tool to adjust the valves. Also I haven't bought a service manual yet. I guess I better get my bottom in gear a moving. I might even know you. I'm bob Wethington and I used be the town marshal here for about 15 years. I'm the fire chief now. For the time being anyway. We will have to ride. sometime.

Hey Slick. I have the service manual for the '02 1800C if that fits your needs. I don't have the confidence that I can do the valves myself but would love to learn by helping someone do it. I'm going to replace my clutch springs, plates and disks this weekend but that's about as advanced as I get when it comes to wrenching on my bike.
