Beer Kahuna, Hi I was wondering what type of flames you had on your bike? Is your bike black? It looks black in your picture.
Jimbo. :?:

Yes it was black originally then I got a dent in the tank so I had the whole bike re-shot black and added all the flames. Pain in the butt to take apart/put back together without damaging anything. Especially with no extra helping hands. The front fenders on Retro's are extra tricky.

Here are some additional pictures:

The big flames were then painted over the black. It is Dupont chromalusion in 2 different mixes. Turns about 8 different colors depending on the angle of the light. Then a bunch of smaller blue and purple flames were ghosted over the top. Cover it all in 4 coats of clear, and, voila!

I've said it before, but those really are some of the nicest flames I've seen. That cange o color paint really makes it happen. Hey Dennis, if you have any pics you'd like to post you can e-me and I'll help you out with them

Thanks guys, I appreciate the nice comments.

Horseshoer (Dennis I think?), I have a friend/employee that did it for me. I'm the Fixed Operations Director at Ron Tonkin Honda and he is a painter in my Body Shop there. Does excellent work when you give him the time.

Hey Beer, do you know Mark Bohie, he's been there at the parts dept for many years. He's a long time friend/client of mine. He was bragging about a guy who did excellent flame work there at the Tonkin body dept, I was going to look him up someday

Beer, those flames are sweet I didn't know you could get painted flames to change color like that. :!:

Brad, your bike looks great, real "looow!." How does it handle? It looks like it could drag a peg real easy. :?:

I've put a couple hundred miles on her since I installed the 10 1/2"ers. It handles great, no more wallowing in the corners because it's so much stiffer now. I don't scrape noticeably any worse, and thankfully when it does, it's still the front pegs and not some stationary object. It is way stiffer though and requires definate sphinkter tightening when you see a big bump comming your way :D

Brad, (sorry to take so long to get back to you but I missed your question)

Hey Beer, do you know Mark Bohie,

Yes I see him every day. Great guy. And yes, the guy he's talking about is the one that did my paint work. Flipping amazing.
