Ok. The easy riders show is one week from Sat. I am going down about 7AM and plan on staying to about 3or 5PM then heading back to Omaha. No overnight frat party this year - I need to get back because I am going out of town on Monday and need some quality time with my kids before I leave.
So who is with me? Omaha guys - we can meet at Rosenblatt at 7:30AM Lincoln and south riders - we can meet on I-29 exit 10 at the Sapp Brothers.
Time to put up or shut up. 600 miles of riding - weather permitting - let's get real.

Not sure but I may stay with sister-in- law Sat. night and come back Sunday with anyone wanting to return later in the day.

I'm going. Meeting up with a bunch of riders from Missouri at the Rock Port exit on I-29. I'm actually heading down to Rock Port on Friday night. My friend and I are going to stay Saturday night near Westport and head back on Sunday. I don't have any details yet about departure times on Saturday. Hopefully, they will coincide with you guys so we can ride down together. Once I get details, I will post them.

IF we go we may stay in a hotel, if we do I'll ride back with you. (Wendy will be in the truck)
I'm still up in the air. If my parts don't come in I won't go, Wendy's bike is ok for commuting to work but a trip that long would kill me on that little thing.

Ok, got more details. I will be starting out in Rock Port (going down Friday night).
Meeting a handful of riders at the Trails End Truck Stop at the Rock Port exit at 8:30 on Saturday morning. Will then ride on to Squaw Creek exit to meet up with a few more riders at 9:00.
I believe that everyone in these two groups will be coming back the same day. I'm still up in the air if I am coming back on Sat or Sun since they are now forcasting a good chance of rain on Sunday.
Anybody who wants to is more then welcome to join up with us.

Just called HDL and they said that if Thunder shipped my air kit on Thursday (like they said) that HDL will have them Thursday of this week. So I went ahead and had them add overnight to my order and I'll have it Friday by 11am as long as everything goes as scheduled. Makes me a little nervous to have my maiden voyage after a full wiring job be a long trip like the KC show, but I'll take some extra wire and tools in case I have to do a roadside patch  Might have to take it out for an hour or two Friday night just to test it  . So KC is looking promising for RobDogg!

Also, just checked the weather from here to there and 0% chance of precip on Sat, 40% chance of T-storms on Sunday. Looks like a one day-er is the preference for this guy. Not that I mind ridingin the rain, but I don't want to have to clean and polish the bike right after my first ride!!!

My air kit shipped today via overnight, I'll have it tomorrow. Got my brake line fixed.
I'll be good to go Saturday morning!

As I mentioned, my preference is for the more scenic route.
Just let me know where and when to meet who.

Me too - I will take the scenic route - how about 10AM - give it a chance to warm up a bit - at the Palmyra gas stop. I will head down HW 50 to HW 2 and then across to Palmyra - I will leave at 9AM.

I think at this point we should just worry about the 3 of us - Chris, Rob and Andy, unless we have more input before Friday night

Hey, I am planning on heading down too. If I could tag along on Saturday. I am going to KC to see my grandmother that I have not seen since I have been back from Bosnia. My wife and kids are going to take the van down and will probably meet me down there if I ride along with you fellas. We are planning on staying Saturday night and coming back Sunday. If this is OK I would meet you guys at the Palmyra gas stop at 10AM. It is the gas stop right on Hwy 2, isn't it? Let me know!!! Thanks!!!

enfuego - we'll see you there. I suppose you'll take highway 77 and then 2 around Lincoln?
I think Andy said that because no one had chimed in. The more the better IMO (and Andy and Chris too  ) Andy and I are just going for the day, Chris is staying until Sunday weather permitting.
Anyone else that wants to ride with us please let us know so we wait for you. I'll check the board right before I leave the house and my cell is 402-770-8954 if you need it.

Looks like a friend and I (possibly 2 more) will be at Palmyra by 10am if thats ok with everyone else. The wife is going to bring the cage and follow. We plan on not coming back til the next day. If for some reason we are not there by lets say 10:05, go ahead and leave. But we plan on being a little early. So, is this meeting spot at the gas station on Hwy 2??

If for some reason I'm not out there, go ahead and go to Eagle and stop at the Cenex and I'll catch up. (or pull in if you want to) I'll wait at my place until you get there.
Chris, we'll be there sometime after 9:34am.

The wife is going to bring the cage and follow. We plan on not coming back til the next day.
My wife initially was going to follow us down there too, but I convinced her otherwise... And then you HAD to go and post this... :? So I felt obligated -- ie, good for my health  -- to tell my wife that another wife was driving down. When I told her, I was asked the following questions and then ridiculed for not immediately knowing the answers:
"Does he have kids? How old are they? Are they going to see family?"

Four bikes left Rockport at 8:30 am on Saturday morning. We met up with 9 other bikes at the Squaw Creek exit. We had an impressive train going for awhile. Unfortunately, 30 miles north of KC, one rider (at the front with me) blew a back tire. We pulled over on the shoulder while one bike went back up the rode a mile to a gas station to get fix-a-flat. Unfortunately, it was a tubed tire, but it was good enough to get him back to the gas station. We had a very nice Mo. state trooper that stopped an blocked traffic for us to get back on the road and he also escorted the lone rider back to the gas station so he could call his wife for transportation. The nice trooper even overlooked that out of 14 riders, 11 of us had gravy bowls on!
Made the show shortly after 10:30. Stayed until about 2:00. Then we caught lunch at Johnny Dare's in Westport. We then stopped bars in Platte City, Wathena, Hiawatha and Falls City. A fun time was had by all (except for Jim, who blew the tire and had to quit early). Although, He and his wife went fishing went he got home, so it was all good.
I looked for the few of you that I knew while we were at the show, but I didn't see anyone. I have pictures too, but I have to get them uploaded to the net. I will post once I get them uploaded.

Ride back was a riot man!!! Stretching the X's legs out to the triple digits always puts a smile on the dial
