:?: Looking for opinions from those with experience using Progressive Suspensions' front fork springs. Claim is much smoother ride and better handling. VTX is not bad but can feel a bit rude on section seams, cracks and bumps in the road. Thanks! :)

After all of the hype about these things and borrowing a tool for the install. I didnt notice anything at all. And it was a PITA to do. If I knew ahead of time I would of went with the Goldwing ones and increased my front clearance by an inch or so.

Depends on if its a 1300 or 1800 .I noticed a big difference on my 1300 an it was easy to install (no special tool). My brother in law has an 1800 and he wasn't impressed.

I have to agree with CHUCKLES, If you have and 1800 it does not make much difference on the ride, plus you need the special tool to install them. If you have the dealer do the installations is not worth the money. On the 1300 makes for a better more controlled ride and eliminates the nose diving. And you don't need any special tools for the installation, well a motorcycle jack.

I installed the Progressive springs in my 1300. That was pretty much a breeze except for a few minor issues as Toolman knows. The 1300 stock springs are like a wet sponge. The Progressive springs stiffend the front end and made a world of difference. If you have a 1300 I highly recommend them.

Teh 1800 seems like it would be a real B*&ch to install. I can't speak to the differences on the 1800 because I don't own one.

Thanks again everyone! To summarize everything suggests progressive springs make a positive difference and are relatively easy to install on the 1300 but somewhat the opposite is true on the 1800. On the 1800, little to no detectable difference is reported and it's a PITA requiring a special tool to install. Not worth the time or expense on the 1800. I have an 1800 and so cancelled the order and thank my VTX friends for their experience. Was out riding today. Like butter! When you are riding all things are just fine!
