Has anyone been to Fannin Landing lately and if so, What do you think of the new plans for it? The wife and I rode out there this past Sunday and was suprised to see the sign saying the new building would be up and running by July!!!!!!!
We are really looking forward to it as we ride up there often on Sundays to hang out and chat with the other bikers there.

I live just south of Jackson on I-55 in Byram. The wife and I usually like to ride the trace either north or south and we also like to ride to Vicksburg and go thru the military park. We like back roads and scenic rides. Neither of us are crazy about the interstate roads. We don't care where we ride as long as we ride.......so anywhere you want to go is fine by us. Just let us know. The more, the merrier.

I live near Edinburg, between Carthage and Philadelphia about three miles off of Hwy 16.

I have been up there a couple of times this year. Is there going to be a store there? Does anybody know when they are to open the trace around Jackson? I think it was to be around the 1st of May. Ivanhoe

Rode to Ratliff Ferry today to check it out. It's only about thirty minutes from my house.
The store is still under construction. They laid the foundation but that's about all. The sign at the entrance reads that the grand opening is to be on July 5th this year. If that's the case, they better get with-it. It also reads that they have a vendor with a concession stand set up only on weekends and they encourage everyone to visit. If that's the case, I think it would be a worthwhile trip. I'll check out the concession stand this Saturday or Sunday (whichever day is not raining) to see what they got.

somebody is about to make a good living with that store on sundays

yea my dad and i say everytime we go to ratliff that man if we had time to work it and run a store there it would be a huge money maker. but from what i gather and what everyone says that the fire dept. that has that area is giving everyone a hard time about a store saying it is a big liability. but that is all hearsay. so what about a ride im ready i live in brandon and always ride out to the rez. on sundays and heck even saturdays that im not at work. im going to brookhaven to take my bike in thurs. to check the valves and have a good looking over.
You guys lets meet somewhere and have some lunch and chat about the baddest bikes ever. VTX
Thanks

Ok, not real sure where the flying J is. I think that is a truck stop, help me out. ic

The Flying J is a big truck stop and uses Conoco fuel. If your going East on I-20, it's the next exit after US 49 under the overpass. I'm not sure of the exit name or number.

Yes, the Flying J is on Hwy 80 at the highway 49 exit. Get off of interstate 20, turn towards highway 80 and take a left at the light. FJ is on your left like a block down.

Which way are you planning to go to get on the Trace? I will pick ya'll up depending on route. I could be at the Craft center just off of I-55 or further up the Trace depending on your plans from the Flying J. ic

hey i guess the best way for senic route is across the rez and get on in madison that will give us all a chance to see each others riding skills (not a bad thing) to understand how it all works and will also give us something to look at other than 18 wheelers. oh and loud pipes are good it doesnt bother me in fact ive got v&h bigshots so it will have no effect on my hearing  .oh and the easiest way to get to flying j is to take the pearson road exit( movie theater tinsletown) and go back under the bridge when you get to hwy 80 take a left go down about 1 mile and the j is on the right. i told copperhead that the intersection at 49 is like a death trap so the other exit will be easier also. well i look forward to meeting you guys ill bring some of my ridding buddies and see you all on sunday

This is directions to Pilot...not Flying J...so which one are we meeting at? Pilot is on 80 across from Southerlands lumber....Flying J is going down a little further back towards jackson on the left....I want to make sure I meet at the right truck stop :)

We're definitely meeting at the Flying J - I've been there before just not recently. I did a search on the internet and the address is:
685 E Hwy 80 Pearl, MS - It looks like it's at the cornter of 80 and Old Hwy 49.
The wife wants to go too so we'll both be there.

I agree, the ride was awesome. We ended up with like 20 bikes all togther and the weather was great. Any one who did not make it this time is welcome for the next ride. I took a few shots of the bikes and will email them to anyone interested. Lets plan another ride soon. It was great meeting everyone and putting a face with a name.

Enjoyed the ride and meeting all of you.
It looks like we started off at the Flying J with 14 bikes and picked up 3 more by the time we made it to Ratlif Ferry. It'll be interesting to see when the Ratlif Ferry concession/store opens up. I'll keep you posted.
Sorry I left so abruptly when I left. My wife called to let me know she was feeling much better so I went to pick her up for a ride back to Ratliff Ferry, but everyone from the group had already left. No matter, I'm sure there'll be other rides.

Yeah Len,
We all hung around like another 30 mins or so after you left. Most of the group went on to eat and some of us had already eaten so we rode a while more then went our separate ways. It was fun and we will most definately do it again real soon. It was nice meeting you and hope we get to meet your wife the next ride.
