Hit a big dog many years ago. Lucky I didn't go down. Bent my front forks
and killed the dog (boxer) though.

MY brother-inlaw got thrown off his Sportster avoiding a squirrel on a city side street. All we could get out of him was his front brake locked up because it was rusty. He ended up breaking his collar bone amd banging up a knee. We hung a stuffed squirel on his hospital bed.

Several critter encounters...1978 Kaw KZ1000...rabbit ran right into my front wheel, got caught in the mag,and sliced in half when wheel spun him to the forks..Messy.....1988 Shadow 1100....LARGE angry racoon stopped in front of me, doing 35 mph...ran over him with both wheels, bike went up in the air, almost lost control...Left the Racoon thrashing behind me with a broken back....came by later ,someone else flattened him....Watch the racoons, they will try to bite your ankles as you ride by if your close enough..... also on the Shadow, hit in my forehead,by a Sparrow at 50 mph...My girlfriend seated behind me, had her mouth open at the time...Guess where the guts from the Sparrow ended up...Then she threw up on my back. I also saw what a pheasant can do to a Harley, when hit at 70 mph...almost killed the guy....

I am not really sure what the deal is but here it is, I had a 750 spirit with 2.5" HK pipes and a deer tried to hope on with me, (that was last year) the year before a deer tried to hop on with Chilie, He has a 750 ACE with pipes, I just put a set on a 750 ACE and a dear tried the same thing just the other night, I went for a ride on it yesterday and three of them almost ran over me, now The first 1800 I put 27xxx miles on it and didn't have the problem and this 1800 I have 11xxx on it and no dear problems, I am thinking the deer Don't like the shared crank pin engines at all! The VFR 750 I had for 13000 miles, had a Bird problems every year I got hit by a bird, Thinking back now, I bet if a turkey few into you it would knock you off of the bike. back in the 70's I did have a squirrrel run into my SL 100's engine. It was funny to look back and see the poor little thing doing flops and rolls and finnally finding the tree to run up! Just wondering if the insurance companies are funding the reintroduction of animals, sure has been costing everyone more money, and not to mention lifes that are lost due to it.
