I live in Winston Salem. The odds are great that next weekend I will be putting my poor wrecked girl back together.

A few of us, from upstate SC, are headed to Hooters in Rock Hill Sunday. We should be there between 1 and 1:30. Come on, if you can.

Old post, but thought I'd chime in.

Not many good, winding roads around Charlotte, but I keep finding a few possibles.

Last week, I took the Hwy 218 shortcut from US 74 to Mint Hill. Lots of sweeping curves  , two lane :) , VERY scenic  , some poultry farms  and moderate traffic  . Seems like a good early Saturday morning ride. Any thoughts on this one?

From Charlotte: take I-485 to the Mint Hill exit (Hwy 218) off Brief Road and head down to Hwy 74 at Polkton (outside Wadesboro). This is sort of close to Slow-Goin in Wingate. Hi!

The following link was posted on the 1300 forum that ya'll might find interesting. Otherwise, if you do a search for "motorcycle roads" you'll find a few sites.

might try, meeting in Pineville.... 485.... to 218... to 205... to 24/27..... to morrow mtn state park. nice ride, few gas stations....nice scenery... chickens stink in a few places... but thats nature... or at least dinner.

Next week end the Vulcan club is meeting in Lake Lure, I might go up there.... if work permits. That could also be a good ride.

This looks like a good one. On my map software, it looks like a 1 hour 45 minute ride, without stops. I am very interested in a ride like this. We could meet at the IHOP in Pineville across from Carolina Place Mall.

Anyone? Lets do this one soon.

Thanks Slow Goin.

Lots of good roads in this area. All of us need to make a meeting point somewhere close to this area and I will take you to some very crooked roads. No need to go to the mountains, just stay in Randolph county. I'm sure DJH will back me up on this.
