Picked up my new black spec 2 N model on Friday. This is a great motorcycle. I have been a Harley & custom rider for a long time. When I saw the N model on the Honda web site I couldn't believe the custom touches. After riding a retro model at the dealer, there was only one reason not to order a N model...it wasn't a Harley...I got over it. I couldn't be happier. Plenty of power, nice ride, handles like it's on a rail. I did remove my stock baffles, very dissappointing. It was quiet before, it's just slightly lounder now, but it sounds hollow and cheap..I will be purchasing something else soon!!! I have a K&N filter, and the pair valve fix, and a Cobra FI system coming. I am going to try and modify the air box to flow more air and then leave a good thing alone, performance wise. Not many things to do to make it look better but the big turn signals have got to go. Looking forward to putting many fun miles on my great new bike this spring and summer. I am new to posting, searching, etc. on the internet, very interesting information on this site.

Welcome VTXLRG
This is a great site, alot of good information here.
New pipes are a must IMHO. Think about the Thunder Monster
baffles if you like it loud. Would be nice to meet all the Idaho X Riders someday :)

Welcome to the forum board VTXLRG,
Pipes and air intake was the very first thing that I changed on my bike. Nice decision on a bike. I know you will love it! Good luck with your mods and make sure to utilize this site. It has tons of useful information in it.
Take care and ride safe,

Welcome to the board!
And congrats on the new ride.
Great choice. Where did you buy your bike? I would highly recommend pulling all the smog stuff off; that will open up the air flow a great deal. That, and a non-standard air box will add a lot of horses to your ride.

Thanks for all your responses. Between being out of town and working on the bike I have been very busy. I have removed the baffles and then opened the ends of the stock pipe, done the desmog, opened up the air box and put in a K&N air filter, and then added the Cobra FI. Sound is OK, bike runs great. I like the bike more every time I ride it. Here's to seeing a little sunshine and putting some rubber on the road.
