Well I went on a ride Saturday... Ft. Pierce to Melbourne on A!A. It was great going North but when I turned around the wind was pretty strong. Anyway decided not to ride today cause it was 80% rain. Of course it did not rain. So early this evening, I opened the garage to take her out and the freaking back tire was flat. Going out now to check it for nails. Any experiences out there with flat tires? I just hope the stealer can have it done by Thursday Bike Night in the good old port fierce.

Hey silverbullet1300,
You got those tubless tires on your bike. They should be able to just put a patch on it. I remember they use to plug them. I don't know if they do that anymore. I have the spoke rims. That is a whole different situation. I have tubes in my tires, and that sucks. I have spoke wheels. I would much rather have the alloy rims. The tubless tire is far much better, and you can fix them quick with a tire repair kit. I have to use the Honda Road Side Service.
Hope to see you Thursday Night.
Talk to you later,
Dealers don't recommend plugging and most won't even do it for a motorcycle. (now obviously I didn't poll everyone) There were posts on the technical board and the majority of posts recommended against it with the exception of an occassional person who had stories of doing it countless times for thousands of miles, after which the poster would get assaulted by the board. :D
My dealers wouldn't do it and I wanted to order a particular tire that was going to take about a week to get. I purchased a plug kit from pep boys for about $3, did it myself, rode one week, (not at 80 mph) and had the tire changed then. I was also criticized for this approach.
Whatever you do, be careful and weigh how much you have to ride the bike before it can be fixed right.

god made only one of you and fragile at that. dealers will not assume the liability of plugging a tire. for what a tire cost and considering you only have one body get the tire change to a brand new one and ride safe with peace of mind. luckly nails are rare and you may not get another one in many miles. ride safe jorge

You are right Pegs. I don't recommed plugging a tubless tire, but I do think they will put a patch on the inside of a tubeless tire. I was think that plugging the tire when you are out on the highway and in the middle of nowhere. You can at least put a plug in the tire and get to a dealership or something like that.
thanks

Thanks guys, I would never plug a bike tire. For some strange reason... I bought the road hazard protection with the bike. i am not one to buy an extra warranty, especially with a Honda. I guess I figured that was the only thing that Honda was actually making so why not. I will keep an update on how the actual service / warranty process goes. Thanks for the insight. See all Thursday night... Bike or not.

Well silverbullet1300 I can tell you for a fact that the Honda Roadside Service is worth every penny. Ask JorogeX1800, vtx-pirate and scooterx. We were on the iron butt ride, and on the last leg I got a nail in my front tire. We were doing about 75 80 mph. Man it was one wild ride.
The Honda Road Side Service came in handy that day. Didn't cost me a dime, and that tow was like a 140 mile ride for the driver.
Well worth the money.

Well the roadside assistance seems to be working. What isn't working is the local honda shop. Had everything planned out to get my bike in until they told me they wouldn't be able to do anything to it until at least Thursday. So she sits in my garage. I guess I will have to see how these guys are at service...if I can ever get my bike there.

Ladies and gentlemen,
I am proud to announce that the dealer called today and told me my bike was ready!!! Unfortuantely, I had a meeting that lasted til 6. So tomorrow I am picking up my baby and driving her everywhere. And I will again joing the ranks at Ft. Pierce Bike Night as one who actually rode there. So finally. It has been two and a half weeks. And now I am happy.
Side note> Tim, I will be heading up to Sebastian tomorrow night to eat with some friends. Let me know if you will be out on the bike at all. Or anyone else for that matter.
:D :D :D <me today.
