I want to get the Mississippi gulf Coast beefed up with a solid group of VTX riders. We have tried unsuccessfully over the last year, and I know there are some VTX'ers out there. The Louisiana group have a good strong group and I would like to parallel their efforts in Mississippi. Anyone who wants good riding partners let me know.

I echo Smooth's thoughts here. I see Xs all over the streets (going the other direction usually). Bandit and I ride together quite a bit, but he is the only X I know on the coast.

Had my X for almost a year now and while I do love a nice ride they're rarely planned. Not that I want to be anti-social by any means - have seen other locals on the board and would love to meet w/ some of you guys. Unfortunately with a teenager on the dance team, a home we've been in less than a year with the requisite 'honey-do' list of things that need to be polished off, and various other after work projects (computers for friends, help w/ my Dad's business...) most of my rides fall into the 'hey, it's not raining and I have an hour or two free' category :D Sad fact of the matter is my poor X hasn't even been started in the last two weeks :cry:

But now that my whining is done things are looking up! The honey-do list is actually getting shorter [fits in a small binder now ;)], the daughter's dance activities are settling into a fairly predictable routine, and my Dad's business is slowing down now that the Summer is coming to an end. I see some free evenings & weekend days on the horizon [WOOT!!!] which is why I'm starting to get active on the boards. When the opportunity arises I'll certainly post my local rides. Two out of towners on the calendar right now:

Gatlinburg TN: - October 21-24th - Two full days of cruising in the mountains - trailering up & back

Pensacola, FL: - November 12th - Blue Angels Homecoming airshow

As I haven't had the opportunity yet to do any rides of significant length I'm in the process of adding some goodies to my bike. I plan on ordering an Ultimate 4pc, Bestem backrest & bracket set, HDL rack, and Kury cruise peg mounts & pegs. If anyone on the coast has these on their ride I love to take a look this week if possible. Saw where Smooth had ordered his seat, make it in yet???

Looking forward to meeting some local X'ers... tired of trying to make my Dad's 'zuki Volusia look good ;)

Rocketman, its good to see that your honeydo list is getting smaller. If you would like, maybe you could make one of our Southern Cruiser bike nights. We just changed up the nights, so we (Ber_1800 and I) will be sure to post it on here. We all meet up for about an hour every week and socialize. Keep checking this board and we will post as soon as we get the final list of nights and places.
