Thanks for the help!!!!!!
Looks like if all goes right, my wife and I will be coming up to AK on June 11th for 4-6 days!!!!!! Trying to get a bike and hope to see some of your beautiful state.....
Would like to visit / ride with some Xers if possible.
Please keep sending the tips on where/what to do when we are up there!!!! We would appreciate all the local insider information we can get.
(spending all the vacation money on the bike... we'll be sleeping on the side of the road - but I hear that's not a bad thing in Alaska!!! )
Thanks again.....

Glad to hear it!
Stay in touch as the date approaches. All two members of the AKVTXOA will be happy to see you
Maybe 3, I just showed my bike to a prospective VTX buyer today.
Camping by the side of the road is definately not a big deal. Just bring your anti-mosquito flak cannons.
Actually if you're going to Circle Hot Springs, they used to have really cheap rooms at the very top of the hotel. The "rooms" were little 3' tall tent shaped spaces at the tops of some dormers, with doorways. Fun as heck to stay in when we were kids. I don't know if those rooms are still there or how much they charge.

Jason, thanks for stopping by today! Your knowledge and experience with this bike really helps put my worries to ease!
As mentioned, Circle Hot Springs is a very relaxing and unique place to visit, however, due to road conditions (you will hear that alot), this hot springs may not always be open (pretty sure it was closed down two years ago, but then opened up again last summer?) With the library at the top of the hotel and then the little cubby holes for rooms, natural hot springs surrounded by gorgeous wilderness, and a very rustic bar, its found only in Alaska!
Also, I have to recommend anyone traveling to Alaska to find a copy of "The Milepost" NEED THIS (http://www.themilepost.com) I will say it is a must have! Even with contacts up here, it is very helpful in planning out the trip from start to finish.
Thats all for now,
Thanks again Jason!

Welcome to the board. I can't believe it, we have doubled the number on the Alaska board in one day. from 2 to 4. If you ever get down this way let me know. I always like to ride on my vtx. The other Alaska member who has posted is Alaska x.
