Pretty slick, but could you do it in DEEP ORANGE!!! LMAO!
Actually, I like it. Maybe the Tennessee Riders (or Tennessee Ridge Runners) could get together at the Hoot for a Pow Wow. If so, let me know since I'll be there late in the week.

I think the logo patch that California has would be sharpe for us. We could just put Tennessee where California's name is. Check out this site http://home1.gte.net/mikevds/patches.html

Red,
Looks very good. However, I would bring the stars forward in front of the state and behind the VTX letters. That way it would stand out more. Also, try just using an outline of the state, without any color, so what is behind will show thru.
Just some thoughts.

BTW, you gonna be at the Hoot. I'll be passing thru West Tn on Thursday mid day on my way out there. North of Memphis and south of Union City. I'll probably take US 70 as much as possible.

I've seen that the CA and NJ VTX logos are the same. I think that would probably be the way to go. Same logo but different state name. Gives us some continuity.

Personally, I wouldn't want anything that even remotely resembled CA or NJ. But that's just me!!!!!

I like the idea of using the same logo as the other states...

Hey Everybody,
I've had some time to look at a lot of bike stuff and came up with a logo for the VTX-TN riders.
Hope everyone likes it. Let me have some feedback.

This design is easy for a vinyl plotter and a embroidering machine.
I design graphics as a hobby and have already cut one for the back window of my truck. I'll post that later if anyone is interested.

That is pretty nice, Simple enough for Silk screening or embroidery and still looks sharp. 8)

I also said that I liked the Califorina patch but I don't think many others did from the lack of response.

All during this I've tried to leave my opinion out, but I need to get this off my chest. Thanks to all of the people that liked my design. I tried to keep it simple and tie it in with the factory logo, that gives it reconition to other Honda riders, and a bit of our states heritage. As far as looking like other state logos this is where we need to draw the line. I don't want to look like the same VTX rider next to me at the Hoot. Or do all of you want to customize your bike to look like someones in California? Is it that we are so lazy that we can't even come up with a logo on our own? We all strive for something original yet seem to want to fall back to the same old pattern. Even if you want something other that my logo thats OK. I'll wear it proudly on my back, as long as we don't copy another STATES !!!!!!
For those who read my rant and agree, Thank You for your time.
And for those who don't - GO BACK TO SLEEP SHEEPEOPLE
Thanks TIKI 65

Hey dude! Don't be so sensitive! I liked your design too! I gave it my OK on the master cylinder covers & mailed a check on Friday! I guess you'll see your logo on our covers REAL soon! After some thought I would like to have your design on our patch also! BTW I just live a skip & jump from Knoxville! (45 min) If you ever want to get up a ride thru the mountains or the Gap just holler! Thanks! :D Rod :D

I have the Illustrator File for the graphic if anybody needs it for patches/engraving/etc...
Tiki and I have been been best friends for over a decade and have been doing graphics together for about 3 years now. Believe me, he's not being sensitive so much as he just doesn't want to wear a patch, etc... that is just a copy of somebody else's logo.
I can already see his chest swelling with pride when he goes to the Hoot next year and sees his design on some of the sweet bikes you guys ride. 8) You can't deny it, Tiki. It's gonna make you *very* proud to know that others like the great work you do. :D

Hey Rod,
I live in the Powell area, just north of Knoxville. We should get the locals together from this board this spring and ride sometime. I work at Denso in Maryville and will be spending alot of time riding around up in the Mtns this year if your ever looking to head up that way as well.
Oh yea, and Tiki, I'll be sporting those covers at the Hoot for sure... :D

Great Idea,I got my bike in late june & been up your way several times, went thru the Gap in July & October, great ride, fun to see all the different bikes & people having fun.Took quite a few rides thru the smokies too, lots of good curvy roads around here.If work(and all that RAIN!) hadn't been so busy I would have got to ride much more.I'm always up for a ride on Saturdays! Just let me know! :D Rod :D

Like I said above. I like it. It is also obvious that you have a handle on how to make it "Camera Ready".
And from one professional Graphic Artist to another, you will NEVER please everyone. Especialy the ones who don't know the process it takes to create one of these from "Concept" to actual product (patch in your case).
If it were me. I would just go ahead and do it. The people who want it will get it. The people who don't wont.
It's a Great Design, I'd hate to see it go to the wayside.
My opinion of course.

If I'm butting in just tell me to get lost.
One thing many of the Digital Artist need to understand is that "Rastor Grafix" such as the ones that come out of Photoshop and the like, look REALLY COOL on a computer screen but are almost Impossible (READ VERY EXPENSIVE) to duplicate as a Silk Screen or a Patch. NOT Impossible mind you but expensive.
Most Mom an pop shops could not do this and make a profit and most of the large shops would require a lot of items to bring the price to acceptable levels.
I started with Photoshop Years ago (around Ver. 3) and Illustrator around Ver. 1. For most shops, they require "Vector Graphics" like Illustrator or Corel. It is possible to do a "Similar Enhancement" in a Vector File but that would cost a bit as well.
Oh and doing a conversioon (in Photoshop) from Rastor to Vector wont work because the image will flatten and you will loose your independent Layers.
Why am I saying this, I guess to save you some time and effort
Again, If I'm butting in just tell me and I'll delete this message.

It's Cool. Really.
I was just trying to point something out.
BTW - CMYK, RGB, or Pan Tone, makes little difference outside the Digital world.

Tiki,
I agree with Dawg. Keep the design and colors simple and it will look better. I love your design just the way it is, so "just do it"!
BTW, tell me how to get the patch and maybe a shirt.
