G'day Tukster,
The cheapest way to get aftermarket parts is to order them from the US yourself. Because nearly everything is US made, all the shops here do is the same thing but add their mark up.
I have just purchased a Mustang Wide Vintage Seat for my 1300. To order it from an Australian dealer Metric Rider it would have cost AU $945.
To order it thru Cruiser Customizing right now it will cost US $378 (once you add it to your cart) and another 20% for shipping which is US $454 or about AU $605.
SAVING OF AU$340 - why bother buying from local dealers??
Another example is for the Aeromach risers on the same Metric Rider page as the seat - they want $245 where as Cruiser Customizing want US$135 + US$27 = $162 or about AU$215. SAVING OF AU$30
Of course it depends on what your looking for as well. It really does pay to shop around as some dealers do run specials as per the seat above. I have never and will never buy anything from a local dealer in Australia - just too expensive. I have used HDL, Cruiser Customizing and also the classifieds on this site to purchase all my after market accessories.
The links to the above seat prices:

If your happy paying the additional $$ then there is a good mob at Hawthorne - Metric Cruiser Customs - 3899 5666. Their website is http://www.metriccruisercustoms.com
Hope this helps :mcrider:
By the way, if you ever buy aftermarket risers for you bike, let me know cos Iam looking to buy a set of 1800 risers for my bike.
Also, check this site out - http://www.kobbers.com/qld.html - great people and good rides!!
Cheers.

Hi Tucster,
I gotta agree with the others here, I imported a scotts steering damper for my Fireblade and saved just under half price.
Also imported all the extras on my 1800 fro HDL, exept for the PC3, probably couldnt have afforded them otherwise!
