Welcome to the site!
I would definitly check with hal at HDL and see what one cost thru him.......it would be safer and make that boy feel alot better.

Check out a Paladin backrest. It is a bit more costly than other bars, but it does have a quick release feature so you can easily take it of whenever you don't have a passenger. I plan on getting one for my C model.

Welcome too the group. Seeing as you have a "C", I would go with the Honda Line Deluxe back rest. I think it is the best looking of them all.

I have the honda line on my 02 C, my wife loves it and it looks good with the lines of the bike. One of my neighbors has an 04 C and he put the one with the quick release on his bike, but he's wishing he would have gone with the same as mine. The quick release isn't really that quick and the brackets/pins have scratched the fender (he's changing it out to the honda line when he gets the tank and fenders back from custom paint). :pepper1:

I made a custom one for my wife's aero, and have made several for other bikes. I have a Hondaline on my 1800 retro, but that is only because I didn't have time to build one. Chrome is nice, but powder coat works nice, and so does quality paint. Don
