Well, I went out and did it last weekend and bought a 2004 VTX 1300c from my buddies down at the Hitching Post:D. About a week after another buddy of mine bought the same one. This would be my first bike, but I have big plans for it. I already have gotten cobra low-boy pipes, and a hypercharger for it. Planing on the 240 tire kit sometime in the next year. Well gotta get going, good to be on here.

240 is the way to go!!!! I wont go back. I think that it handles better.

? HOW MANY ROSEMOUNT VTXERS ARE THERE OUT THERE?

I think we should get a small Rosemount ride together!

Welcome! I'm new here too... had mine for just over a week. I have another buddy who just bought one Friday. We got great deals on 2003 holdovers. I was originally going to buy a 2005 1800F, but for almost $5k less I got a C in my favorite color (blue) and I can customize it without feeling guilty!

I'm looking forward to a Minnesota X meet sometime.

Later,
Rob

Where did you get your VTX from? I've been looking for a holdover C for a good deal.

Hey tapper, did you buy it at the SSP Hitching Post? That's where I got mine. Those are good guys there. Kevin was my salesman.

My buddy and I bought them at Larson's in Cambridge. They had the lowest prices I could find in the metro and St. Cloud area. I actually wanted to buy from Moon in Monticello but they sold the blue one the morning of the day I called (who the hell buys a bike on Friday morning - especailly when I want to buy it that afternoon!).

Larson's was at $8595 black, $8795 in red and orange, $8895 Ill Blue. They had several black and a bunch of blues as of last Friday. Not sure about the other colors. Moon was at $9100 for blue. Not sure if they have any left anymore. Since I started researching about 2-3 weeks ago it seems like the 2003s are disappearing fast around here. Larson's is probably your best bet. Call or e-mail them (send me a PM for e-mail address) and ask for Chris P. Tell him Rob sent you!

Rob

240 IS the way to go (and someday I shall have one!!!) I agree with the rosemount ride idea. I say we all ride together over to Hooters once those plans get ironed out!!

Thanks for the info on Larson's. I contacted Chris, just might have a new VTX sitting next to my Interceptor.

I drive by Moon's every day on my job. They have 30 or 40 bikes lined up outside all day, everyday. Not sure I'd want to buy a bike that has been outside like that. Unless those are all bikes in various stages of service.

Flyinlow:

If you decide to buy from Larson's and you buy a 2003 Illusion Blue you have to talk to me first. Trust me. Send me a PM or e-mail.
