If your from Wyoming, please reply to this post with where in Wyoming you are located. This should help us get together for rides or whatever.

MUTT -- Cheyenne

I get up to Evanston and go up through the Uintahs and into Evanston on several occasions throughout the summer.

Let me know if any Evanston VTXers are out there or you have any events planned. I'd be interested in hooking up.

Anyone ride the Monte Cristo Loop, through Woodruff?

George, from Casper. I also ride a ST1300 and spend a lot of time down into Co, mostly on the west slope. Give me a call at (307)472-3278 if you're in the area, if I'm free we'll ride.

God Bless,
George

gstanfiled - where was the burnout in the pic going down - looks familar to me in Casper?

It happened on the overlook spot on Casper mt. It seems like the factory rear tire will only get about 4000 miles on it before I'm bald, but hey there's a cost for fun :D

Ride hard,
George

Wow, are there only 4 riders from Wyoming? I know I've seen many more VTXs on the road than that. Here is the list so far:

MUTT - Cheyenne
Shrek - Sheridan
George - Casper
Rookie - Casper
Chris001 - Casper

Where is everyone else?

gstanfield

I have seen a couple dozen in the Casper area, and have told a few abvout this site, but so far havn't actually seen any of them on here, unless maybe rookie or Chris (he's a newbie, only one post so far) may happen to be one of the ones I have talked too. Maybe we'll just have to plan some kinda get together this summer, afterall, WY isn't that big of a state to drive from one side of to the other when you're on a bike, at least it ain't for me, but then again I ride LOTS!!!

Me and a bunch of VTXers from Salt Lake City area went to the Freedom Rally over Memorial Day weekend. While there we met several VTXers from the Evanston area. Next time, I see any VTXers up around Evanstan area, I'll try and tell them about this website.

I'm a Calif. X'er and I'll be passing through WY on the 16th en route to CT. I'll be taking 80 across and was wondering if there was anything I need to watch for (long stretches w/o servics, quick places to snap a couple photo's, speed traps, good eats). Mostly looking for stuff that's right along 80.

If there's things I should watch for, let me know...thanx

mutt
02-13-2006, 12:34 PM
If your mileage is that low, you've got something wrong. You should at least be hitting the 90-110 mile mark before the light even starts to come on. Did you get it from the dealer there in Laramie? If so, take it to them and let them know what is going on. Hopefully your driving isn't what is causing the poor mileage. Next time you are down this way, give me a call. (307)631-7020. Cell phone number. If you call during the day, you'll have to leave a message. I can't take my cell phone into my work place.

ditto with what mutt says 80dtylord. I get about 105-110 before reserve light comes on. My 03 is stock too so 70 miles to a tank really does not sound right at all. Even driving like a mad man would be hard to burn through that much fuel difference.

Have a good mechanic check it out....

Welcome to the site. Great info and very helpful bunch of riders.... :)

mutt
02-15-2006, 11:42 AM
I can guarantee that 02 model was way over priced. By the way, when you fill your tank, do you hold the bike in an upright position while filling it? Just trying to eliminate a few factors. If you keep it tilted, your tank won't get full. Remember too, the wrist can often times control your mileage. The harder and faster you turn that right wrist, the quicker you will run out of fuel.

Hey 80dtylord,
Sounds like you have a serious case of Heavy Throttle Wrist :D :D

I have heard that you do get better mileage as you break it in. Maybe time will tell.Try filling it up with the bike upright and then drive like an old guy for one tankful. Of course you might find that mileage is not that important if you start feeling like an old guy..

80dtylord
02-16-2006, 01:38 PM
ya am going to try it it wont hurt being old for at least one tank lol  8)

Sully03
02-16-2006, 10:05 PM
Best of luck! Remember only one tankful. You don't want to wake up with a gold(old) Wing in your droveway. :D

omg i think the oldwing woke up in the bed this morning look the vtx still there can i try this theory with a half a tank dont want thatgold oldwing around my drive bed lol  8)

Hey Silver Tip,

When in July are you going to be in Sheridan? My wife and I are doing the Colorado VTX run June 29-July4. Don't know what your plans or dates are but from what I here that is one heck of an event... You might want to look into it if you have a chance.. If you are in Sheridan after July 4th let me know...

ShrekTBA lives in Sheridan and probably would ride too if the dates work....

We will not fight the traffic over the 4th so we intend on heading your way just after that holiday cools down. That will but is in the state about the 10th we always hit the Laramie brown and gold store just after coming up through Fort Collins. (Go Pokes)

You will have to forgive me for the grammar i have help but she is not here right now. Some time in the future i will read these things before i send them. I always tell myself that you must read what it means not what i say. Look at the bright side I am not it the state long enough for this type of brain damage to infect your children.

Hey everyone,
I am from Casper, WY and am really interested in getting together this year with everyone to go on some rides. Been a member since 2003 but not really active. Actually I forgot my original username and had to sign in as a new member. Anyway, look forward to it. Lets have fun this summer.
