Weather.com says that it will stop raining at 9 am on Saturday and by 6 pm it will be sunny and 75 degrees. That should give the roads 9 hours to dry out. Western PA has approximatley 75 VTX owners registered with VTXOA. Lets see how many we can get to show up for this event!
Interesting statistics. This announcement was posted on May 11 and so far we have had 200 views and 8 replies (2 from me so actually 6 replies). Eastern Pa posted an announcement on May 01 for a meet and greet on the same night (June 4) and have had 1599 views and 95 replies.

George,
The V&H's were a real  PIA  !!! After I talked to you I decided to wait for the wife to get home for an extra pair of hands. I installed a Rattlebars Forkfiller, a PCIII, and then moved my Proton 4 from the 02 to the 03. I talked to Mike (South Park) and he told me to measure the distance between the front and rear and compare it to the stock pipes. Sure enough the V&H's were at least 5/16" closer together. I had to bend the pipes apart and after several attempts they finally went on. I scratched the front spark plug chrome cover and had to steal one off my 02. I still have to install the DynoJet PCIII map tomorrow morning.
Future V&H 1800C buyers,
I highly recommend that you have a buddy help you install the V&H's.
Lex,
The good news is that you should be able to hear the V&H's with quiet baffles on Saturday.

Not a bad turn out... and there were definately more VTX's there than any other bike I believe. Too bad some of you had to scoot off........ I just got done eating and it was thinning out.
Gary, you know hearing your bike would have been like having dessert without eating a thing. Ahhhh, can hardly wait til mine come in and hope they sound as good or even better. Not sure the neighbors are going to appreciate it much tho........
Nice to see everyone there. Seems like a nice Bike Night to be at on a Saturday..... maybe the crowd will continue to grow.

Ditto....
I had a great time listening to some of your pipes..I think I liked the V&H Bigshots (quiet baffles) the best? I still would like to hear the VTXexhaust b4 I pull the trigger, But I am definitely liking the V&H!!!
All you guys were great, I am new to all of this accessorizing and I am mechanically retarded so any first hand help was/is appreciated.
I hope that next week is nice and there is an even bigger turn out. Ron from WHH said he was bringing kickstand pads for everyone (free) because the parking lot at Butya's needs a little help?
I think that if the owner/owners fixed that lot up they could really get a great crowd in there. If it picks up they will need some parking guides so that everyone can fit neatly and get out as well.
Oh well, cya either at the Lube Thursday or next week at Butya's!

Thanks everyone for coming out and making this a fun night! It was great seeing all of you and we had a GREAT TIME!
Next week we ill have a DJ outside and what Jeff Butya calls "tub girls"... don't get scared... it is women with tubs of ice and beverages outside...
As for the lot... I will bring a bunch of kickstand plates out and I will also talk to them about trying to clean up the lot. After getting a good start, I am sure that they will be willing to work on cleaning things up a bit.
Thanks again and I look forward to seeing you all again soon!

Hello, everyone.
Wendell & Lisa here.
It was great to see everyone tonight at Butyas, and
Great to get advice on customizing our new ride,
an '03 Titanium VTX1800S from West Hills Honda.
We would like to make it sound "louder" but can't
really afford "new" pipes. I am thinking about
drilling out my baffles (as shown on the technical
page.) I liked how Jim's sounded. I think he also
told me he removed all the "environmental" crap,
and installed a better air box/air cleaner.
I am quite mechanical and don't think I would have a
problem with any of these mods, but if anyone could offer any pointers
I would greatly appreciate them. We blew our "stash" on the new
bike, and will have make to our mods on a shoe-string budget.
Also, will drilling out the factory baffles affect my warrenty?
Does anyone have a stock set of factory pipes they want to
part with? I would like to keep the original factory pipes "as is"
(in case I don't like the mods and want to go back) and would prefer
to do the "experiments" on an extra set.
Thanks!
Looking forward to seeing you all again. If there's any good
rides coming up, please let us know.

Hey Jimmerz,
Gary was there with his Black Spoke Retro that had the VTXEXHAUST.COM modified pipes. I am sure you heard them. I ordered mine last week and they are on the way. Maybe by next Saturday night I will have them on and you can listen to them then. The VH Bigshots sound nice too, but I personally like the Big Cannons that the Retro has already.
Look forward to seeing everyone there again. Next time I might linger out in the parking lot a bit longer rather than feed my growling stomach.

At 6 PM in Franklin Park it was thundering, lightening and dumped at least an inch of rain between 5:30 and 6:30. I heard the news 2 inches at the airport. Butyas is in a direct line between me and the airport so they must have been dumped on too. Talked to enroute7 around 5:00 PM and gave him an up on the doppler, he was hold up in Ohiopyle waiting it out.
Although folks claim that Metzlers are among the best for wet roads I thought tonight was a little extreme. Thanks West Hills for getting them on for me this morning before the rain set in. Took em for a little spin and love em.
See you guys next week.

Jim,
Well, as we know it got rained out. I agree with the "Six Pack of Bikini Babes" tho. We need something to attract us back and others there more as well. I intended to make it up til the weather got wet, then opted to stay in and install the Power Commander. Thanks Tom for helping me get it set up today... appreciate it.
Did you notice that the majority of bikes there at the 1st Butya's Bike Night were of the VTX persuasion?? That's us VTXers talking it up. Tom Clark has a M/C Club and the members get like 10-15% off parts and service. Maybe in addition to the Six Pack Bikini Babes, we could get West Hills Honda to get the Western PA VTX Riders a 10-15% discount and compete with their competitors. How about it West Hills Honda???
I didn't notice a special $5.00 and under menu, but did notice some items at close to being down to $5.00. Maybe they could have the Coors Lights girls there for $1.00 drafts during Bike Night, along with that Special Bike Night menu.
I heard WH Honda has a Dyno, they could even have a DYNO day during the daylight hours on Saturday and do a special promotion on inexpensive DYNO runs, have some gals there serving burgers/dogs and soft drinks (at least), at a decent price and we could make a day of it there and an evening of it at Butya's.
I know we could have a better turn out at Butya's and support for West Hills Honda if they could support and accomodate our needs and wants as well. One thing has to happen tho, that parking lot needs a little pave job too.
What do you guys think??

:D We have been working on a discount program for the VTXOA guys...
We are offering a 10% discount on all parts and accessories. You MUST mention that you are a member of the VTXOA to receive the discount.
We are having a special on DYNO runs this Saturday (the 18th) for our OPEN HOUSE. Normally DYNO runs are $40, for this event they are $25! There will be food, refreshments and are you ready...
WE ARE PLANNING A BIKINI BIKE WASH!! And don't worry... I will NOT be in a bikini!

Jim,
It's a Tour Master Bag. I bought it at M&M Leather in Greensburg. (Near the old Greengate Mall) It's about the same price at Dennis Kirk minus the shipping. Check the link from Dennis Kirk. Take it easy. Hope to see everyone at Butya's this Saturday.

Chairty Heck, I need a car mechanic, a landscaper, a taxi driver, a cook, a maid, a pet groomer, etc. This retirement is gonna kill me. Update- The chromed parts finally arrived on the 2nd, a day after my BRP trip. All I'm waiting for now are the two matching filters to arrive from K&N (instead of the two different ones that came in the identical marked boxes- just another snafu in the long list of them with this project). I'm hopeing that they get here in time for Saturday at West Hills Motorsports. If not I'm riding my bicycle up there and getting it washed. It's been torture waiting but believe me, it couldn't have been helped. I've only missed a couple of oportunities that I actually could have gone on. So you'll see me on the road soon. 8)
PS- Reminder. I've got this tire changing thing down pretty good now, so if you want to come over here and do it one morning or afternoon let me know. Just order your new tires and have them drop shipped here. Then ride the bike over one day and ride home on new rubber. Disclaimer - I only have the silver lead stick-on weights at this time, so if you want something different bring them with you.
