I just picked upa PC III

I just picked up a PC III from a member on this board and I was wondering if anyone had one installed on their bike? And if so, do you like it? Has it improved anything on your bike?

My bike runs GREAT without it. And I was wondering if it was going to mess up anything on my bike if I just run it without a custom map on my bike. If I run it with just a downloaded map.

I have V&H Bigshots and a Hypercharger on my bike. I have had it that way ever since I bought it. Installed them right when I bought the bike new.

I haven't done the desmog and was wondering if this is something that I am going to need to get and do with the block off plates. Any input would be great. Thanks ahead of time.

There is a lot of info on both the de-smog and the PCIII on the main VTX forum, but I'll tell you what I know for what it's worth.

I have done the de-smog, using the plates. It's easy if you follow Bare's instructions at this page. http://www.bareasschoppers.com/

I also run my bike with the PCIII USB. I have V&H bigshots with a thunder air intake. I have downloaded "Verbatims" map off Bare's site, and my bike runs great with that setup!

HOWEVER....you don't necessarily NEED a PCIII or to do the de-smog if your bike is running great. I like the custom map, as I feel it has leveled out the throttle control, and increased my mileage, and still has great power.

I did the de-smog to try and rid the bike of some decel popping, and it did seem to help. And I installed the Thunder air intake filter as well.
