Has anybody taken their bike to their service department for any type of "unscheduled" or troubleshooting type maintenance? Are they sharp guys back there when it comes to this stuff? I really don't want to take it to Pete's or Cycleworld.

My motor's making a thumping or missing kind of sound. I can feel the miss (or thump) when I put a load on it. It did this once before, then totally went away for about a month. Time to get this thing fixed right the first time.

Thanks in advance,
Genghis Ron

I tried to take my bike in last month for an oil change. They said they were behind a month. So I did it myself. I've heard ok things about them, but don't expect to get in anytime soon.

I like Crofton. I think they do a good job. They are a buzy place though, for service. I guess that says something good for them. My experience was a positive one.

I use them for everything I can't or won't do. I have had nothing but positive experiences. But you should schedule your appointments and try to make them early in the morning so you don't have to leave your bike there. Talk to Paul and tell him you are with the VTX Riders Club of Maryland and I told you to talk to him. He has done great things for me.

HPSC are a good bunch. A faster and maybe better alternative is the Used Bike Emporium on Telegraph Rd. I use them for all my out of warranty service theyare old school and sharp.

The Used Bike Emporium is the place that told me "$300-$400 for re-jet." They also told me "the only good pipes are the Vance & Hines" I'm not so sure about them. I'm not trying to down them, I'm only stating facts.

I swear by (not at  ) Norm and Tony at Team Machine at 9505 Philadelphia in Rosedale. They are on top of their game and don't cheat you. Got their own dyno too. Go talk to them, can't hurt. Tell 'em Tim sent you.

Well, it's probably way too late to pipe in on this subject, but I just noticed your posting. I used HPSC to rebuild my bike last October after a fairly serious crash. They did a beautiful job. The bike looks and runs like new, and Paul and his crew were a pleasure to work with. However, I've never had engine/mechanical service done there, although I will in the future. You might also want to check out Heyser Cycle on Rt. 1 in Laurel. They do decent work, although the place is a pain in the ass to get to.

Just to let you all know how Crofton takes care of their repeat customers. I drop off my bike this morning at 9am for an oil change, head bearing adjustment and CHROME RIM exchages (which Paul is now doing) and it's finished by 3 this afternoon. What else can you say about a Great Dealer that looks at you as a person and a rider not just another customer. The more of us that go to Paul for our service and other things, the more he will help us all!!! THANKS Crofton for fine service and looking out for us that ride a great machine, HONDA!!!

On special occasions! Open House and things like that. They will be having one soon. Call and ask Paul!

Central Cycle of Churchville is going out of business. They have a sign in their front window stating that fact plus a sale on goods.

When I was there in the spring to get some oil and a filter , Cecil told me he was thinking of moving to Missouri. I was kind of under the impression he was looking for someone to take over the business. Either way I need to get into there and check out some of the clearance items. Thanks for the update.
